The facts behind Hosting Cloud services represent a growing opportunity for partners of all types in a wide array of activities across resale, services, and development. However, it s crucial that partners understand the what, where, how, and why of cloud services before embarking on wholesale business strategy change. Top Partners Take a Hybrid Approach to Success Cloud growth is five times that of the IT industry overall, but the reality is that customers will continue to have on premises technologies for a long time to come. Cloud Partners Are the Best Performing Partners In multiple surveys, cloud-oriented partners significantly outperformed their peers, seeing an increase in revenue, gross profit, customer acquisition, and experiencing faster growth. Top Partners Tend to Embrace Cloud Trends Early While cloud contributes to these metrics, it s clear that top-performing partners have adopted the technology at an early stage and successfully incorporated it as part of their overall business model. Top partners have vision and tend to embrace trends early. Reselling partners may find it tough when larger, up-front license deals make way for smaller cloud deals with recurring revenue, where they only receive a referral fee. However, many vendors have adjusted programs to allow partners to resell, as Microsoft have, and not just refer cloud solutions. Page 4

QBS Fully Managed Hosting As a dedicated hosting service, Fully Managed Hosting allows you to lease a virtual private server(s) (VPS) not shared with anyone else. This is more flexible than shared hosting, as partners have full control over their server(s). On the other hand it costs time and specialist knowledge to get full control and then maintain it. A VPS runs its own copy of an operating system, and you have super user-level access to it, allowing them to install almost any software that runs on it. By allowing your clients to update, monitor and troubleshoot the software, it can save you and your staff precious time. QBS Fully Managed Hosting includes a shared SQL Enterprise database and license, monitoring, software updates, reboots, security patches and operating system upgrades. Partners are completely hands-off. Page 5
