In addition, the Systemax Stack appliance automatically creates data storage snapshots of the locally held files, providing complete reassurance that all school data remains accessible and under direct control. Locally stored files and managed applications can be optionally backed up to Microsoft Azure for further peace of mind to provide a full Disaster Recovery capability in the event of a loss of school buildings or stolen equipment. Whilst the Systemax Stack appliance is a physical server appliance built upon HP s ProLiant server range, it is delivered through your trusted IT partner as a managed service, in a highly automated, efficient and secure service package for a monthly fee without an up-front capital cost. Standard Features and Functionality Systemax s cloud managed Systemax Stack As A Service offers all the standard Systemax Stack functionality within a specially discounted bundle. Systemax Stack As A Service is configurable, adaptable and able to evolve with the changing needs of the school in a modular and incremental manner. The appliance is delivered as a managed service including break/fix services for hardware, operating (OS) and application software patching (for managed applications, such as Protex) with automated backup services to ensure s and data are protected at all times. Configuration options range from a single resilient appliance through to a local high-availability cluster based on shared-nothing principles that ensure all the key school operations continue even in the event of a hardware fault. 5 Commercial Considerations Systemax Stack As A Service is charged for on a monthly fee, based upon the special school bundle selected (from the range highlighted in the diagram below), amount of data storage required and Systemax or 3rd Party managed applications to be deployed on the Appliance. Systemax s Authorised Partner will conduct a simple site survey to determine the precise scope and specification of Systemax Stack As A Service and its associate costs and internet bandwidth requirements, to best meet the schools current and planned growth. It is also possible to license and install applications within VMs independently of Systemax under standard license terms (Microsoft SPLA, Volume Licensing or equivalent from other third parties). Applications licensed independently of Systemax are not managed by the Systemax Stack appliance and are not covered by Systemax DR capability. Systemax can provide recommendations on the upload & download bandwidth required to achieve specific data recovery points, backup of Office 365 data from Cloud to the Appliance & optional features e.g. IaaS VMs

7 Optional Feature Additions Available The Systemax Stack appliance enables a range of technical options and services to be implemented and operated as follows. All of the below are extra cost options. Option Resilient SSO High Availability Cloud Backup Multi-Site Configuration Managed Applications Advanced Web Filter Systemax Stack As A Service Optional Features Redundant Active Directory in a Virtual Private Cloud (Azure based), with integration to Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS). The latter enables SSO integration with a wide range of SaaS applications. Upgrade of Standard Appliance to a High Availability Cluster, providing a second mirrored Appliance with higher levels of Service Availability, storage capacity and resilience. Includes Resilient SSO Encrypted cloud backup, storage & Disaster Recovery (DR) options using Azure (including 10 day Azure based operation in event of loss of server/site). Multi-site configuration with combined Active Directory across sites and Microsoft Distributed File System (DFS) based global name space across all Systemax provided and connected Windows File & Print servers. Choose between IPsec or OpenVPN based VPN or alternatively use an MPLS based VPN from a service provider. A range of applications can be delivered under SPLA licensing and kept current to a Gold image as a managed service. See separate table for details on following page. Advanced Internet filtering from E2BN Protex. This utilises at least 1 Extra Small VM. The scale of the VM is dependent on the number of users. (Note that this application cannot be provided in a DR scenario.) Systemax Stack Local Managed Applications The Systemax Stack appliance offers a number of applications that can be delivered, maintained and monitored as a Gold Build on the appliance to ensure that they are kept available and current with respect to patches, security updates and performance. Systemax Stack also provides Disaster Recovery (DR) of these applications (Azure based) in the event of the loss of a server or site. Option Remote Desktop Service (RDS) Microsoft Exchange Microsoft SharePoint Systemax Stack Managed Applications (All charged per user per month or in packs) RDS Windows Desktop access.
