The Laboratory of Computer Science and Robotics for the Environment (LIRA) has been established in the Department of Computer Science, Modelling, Electronics and Systems (DIMES). The laboratory LIRA aims to provide scientific-technological and qualified advice regarding remote capture, transmission, storage, processing and presentation of data to the other laboratories in the University, private companies and government agencies that require it. 1
EQUIPMENT: - Computer cluster composed of 13 processing servers, with a total of 832 cores and 3328 GB of RAM; - PXI box National Instruments for the generation, acquisition and the analysis of radio frequency signal for telecommunications; - Thermal imaging camera with resolution up to 320 x 240 pixel and interfacing by means of Wi-Fi or Bluetooth standards. 2
EQUIPMENT: - Environmental Data Monitoring System and positioning by Wireless Sensors Network and Wireless Mesh Network; - Cloud System for data gathering and data post elaboration. The aim of this System is to provide several categories of Quality of Service (QoS) in multimedia environments. 3
STRUMENTAZIONE DISPONIBILE - Crossbow wireless sensors 802.15.4 for the distributed monitoring of Temperature, brightness and Humidity.; - WiFi video monitoring system; - Six multirotor drones with payload capacity between 0.5 to 3.5 Kg equipped with Gimbals for mirrorless cameras and GoPro. Availability of: FPV radio control systems, Lithium batteries, control boxes, radio modems, power chargers and cables, flight simulator Aerosim. 4
SERVICES high-performance data analysis services based on parallel computing paradigms. Recognition and demodulation of digital modulated signal: the service permits to acquire a digital modulated signal and to identify its fundamental characteristics as: carrier frequency, modulation standard and its parameters. Thermal sources identification: the service permits to identify and quantify the thermal source for environmental applications, electronic or mechanical devices. Environmental Data Monitoring by Wireless Sensors Network and Wireless Mesh Routers for data gathering and diffusion of environmental data. Big data post elaboration. Design of wireless sensor networks for environmental and structural health monitoring Services of monitoring and telesurveillance based on wireless videocameras Design and implementation of monitoring and telesurveillance based on wireless videocameras environmental monitoring services using drones equipped with visible and infrared cameras 5
