Reroof with EagleLite. Reroofing your home can be a time consuming task. To help you through your decision, a guide to the reroofing process appears below. Contact a Licensed and Insured Roofing Contractor Choosing a Roofing Contractor is simple when you know where to look: You can ask your neighbors or friends who have reroofed recently You can call Eagle for a recommendation You can visit your local roofing supply distributor for a list of contractors in your area You can consult your architect or general contractor You can acquire a list of qualified professionals from the Better Business Bureau or Chamber of Commerce Or, you can check your Yellow Page listings. It is important to choose a contractor that is licensed and insured. From there, you should get bids from three contractors for your project. Choose a contractor with whom you feel comfortable, that understands your project and whose bid is clear and understandable. Selecting a Roofing Material Many contractors will provide you bids on several different types of roofing materials from asphalt to concrete tile. When considering a bid, look at the lifecycle cost of the roofing material that is the cost per year over the entire lifespan of the roof. Eagle concrete tile is not only beautiful, it can last a lifetime and is covered by Eagle s Lifetime Transferable Limited Product Warranty. Not only does this mean less worry about the possibility of having to reroof again in a few years, it also means that the annual cost of your concrete tile roof can actually be less than an asphalt roof. When considering your roofing material options, look into the durability, warranty, energy-efficiency and available styles of various materials. Choosing Eagle for your roof will bring you the following benefits: The unmatched durability of Eagle concrete roof tile A superior warranty for all of our concrete roof tile A roof that, when properly installed, can help to reduce energy costs ENERGY STAR and Cool Roof Rating Council approved Cool Roof Tile options A multitude of styles and colors to beautify your home and increase its re-sale value The peace of mind that Eagle concrete roof tile meets Building Code requirements and that the company has earned a AAA rating from the Better Business Bureau It is best to make your roofing material decision after viewing samples of your options. Eagle Roofing Products will be more than happy to deliver samples of the colors and profiles that interest you to your door. Your roofer or local roofing supply distributor will also have samples on hand. Or you can visit one of Eagle s Design Centers or Showrooms located across the country. You can view Eagle concrete tile in person and also see other exterior product samples such as stucco and cultured stone. All Eagle Design Centers are staffed by professionals who will help you make an educated decision about your next roof. Visit an Eagle Design Center Near You 03
Structural Considerations Some roofing materials weigh more than others. Typically, most products that weigh more than 6 lbs/square foot require structural investigation to ensure that the home can support the roof. This investigation costs about $800 on average. Many homes that undergo structural investigation do not require structural reinforcement. In the cases where structural reinforcement is required, it may range in cost from $500- $2500. Eagle offers two profiles of EagleLite tile that are under 6 lbs/square foot. Our EagleLite flat tile and our Standard Weight tile may require structural investigation. When you consider the low life-cycle costs, durability and superior aesthetics of an Eagle concrete tile roof, you'll realize that the benefits of the roof far outweigh the structural investigation costs. It is best to check with your city or municipality to determine if your home will require structural investigation. Installation Eagle Roofing Products offers a variety of accessories used in roof installations that fit with our tile, but the installation of your roof is the responsibility of your roofing contractor. It is important to ensure that the attic is properly ventilated and that the valleys, eaves and roof-to-wall intersections are properly flashed to help prevent water intrusion. Asking your roofing contractor to purchase a small quantity of extra tile to store in your garage is also a good idea. This extra tile can be used for any unexpected future repair needs like tree falls due to severe storms. Not only will you have the extra tile on-hand when you need it, it will also be the closest color match to what's installed on your roof. Regular Maintenance With basic regular maintenance, an Eagle concrete tile roof can last a lifetime. Regular maintenance means ensuring that your roof is clear of debris. For your own safety, you should not walk on your roof. Instead use a professional contractor to do any cleaning or maintenance. In some climates, a concrete tile roof may show signs of efflorescence. Efflorescence results in temporary white-colored patches. It is a chemical reaction common to all concrete products from sidewalks to roofs. Efflorescence will go away on its own after a few cycles of rainfall. You also have the option of having a professional contractor clean your roof to remove efflorescence. Choose Eagle. Eagle Roofing Products created its EagleLite line specifically to provide homeowners and HOA s with the option of choosing a superior product and a service-oriented company when you need to reroof. Given the combination of durability, beauty and responsive customer service, we hope that you feel Eagle is the choice. Design Centers are located in California, Arizona and Florida 04
