Artile recommends a clay tile roof with a passive ventilation layer underneath the tiles, an above sheathing ventilation. Such an installation of a roof creates a continuous air flow from the eaves to the ridge generating natural convective heat transfer upwards to the apex and away from the roof through a ventilated ridge.
