The variability of raw materials and other factors may cause the actual colors of the tiles to vary. 34 HIRING A CONTRACTOR Plantation Slate with, Smooth Plantation Ultra White Slurry, Smooth TIPS FOR HIRING A CONTRACTOR Ask for a certificate of insurance could save you from being personally liable for accidents or injuries on your property. Check the contractor s credentials at the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Always use a licensed contractor. Match the names to ensure the contractor on your contract is the same name on your permit application. Never sign a blank permit application or unpaid bills. Get a materials list of everything being used on your roof to verify that they are the best materials available. Contractors sometimes use inferior materials to Verify materials are ordered quickly Wait times can often be long. Make sure you are not left waiting for materials between city inspections. Plan for the logistics of having tile delivered to your jobsite. Avoid blocking in parked cars, trucks or other equipment when the tile is delivered. Verify the inspection was performed before any progress payments are paid to the contractor. Ask to see the actual permit so you will know that the work up to that point was approved by the city. Inspect your yard Your contractor should clean up after work every day. Nails, tools and other debris are hazardous to you, your children and your pets. If you don t request this release, the material supplier will have the right to lien your house if they are not paid by the contractor, even if you already paid the contractor for the materials. An investment in carbide tooling periodically throughout the day, we randomly select tile samples to measure the size and shape in order to ensure consistency. Size and shape measurements are recorded through the use of laser measuring tables. The shape of the tile makes this task difficult without these sophisticated devices. Once we verify the dimensions are accurate, we weigh the mix to determine the density of the tile, ensuring each tile has the proper compaction. In most cases, rainwater will steadily remove the deposit, leaving the original color of the tile unharmed without further efflorescence.
