Clarity Infrastructure Management helps network operators to plan and document the change to their networks clarity.com
2 Clarity Simplifying Operations Cost effective and timely network rollouts or upgrades require coordination between many parties. Only when the technical, commercial, legal and regulatory aspects are managed holistically can operators expect to reduce rollout costs, accurately track assets and generate return on investment faster.
Introducing controlled infrastructure management processes is a pre-requisite for efficient and timely project delivery. It leads to a reduction in project risks, cost and time and also provides a centralized repository for ongoing, cost efficient asset and estate tracking and maintenance. Introducing efficient processes and practices to manage these investments reduces financial outlay. Infrastructure Management Investment in network infrastructure accounts for a significant proportion of an operator s annual capital and operational expenditure. Introducing efficient processes and practices to manage these investments reduces financial outlay. It also reduces the time to deploy changes and generate revenue on new assets, leading to faster return on investment. Centralizing processes for network change planning, tracking the complete lifecycle of network assets from planning to decommission, and the controlled management of legal, commercial and regulatory documentation of sites and estates provides the basis of improved infrastructure management. With these improved processes, the many teams involved in network change are provided with clear visibility and instructions of the tasks that need to be undertaken, the timeframe in which they are required, and the correct location and materials needed to execute the activity correctly. Introducing controlled infrastructure management processes is a pre-requisite for efficient and timely project delivery. It leads to a reduction in project risks, cost and time and also provides a centralized repository for ongoing, cost efficient asset and estate tracking and maintenance. Throughout, Clarity Infrastructure Management provides robust cost control and approval check-points. Focused modules address outside plant infrastructure inventory management, network project control including, rollout, upgrade, decommission and colocation. Other modules include control of network sites, lease / general document management and network asset control and maintenance. Key Benefits Simplifies the delivery of changes in the network, reducing the time to generate revenue Delivers more efficient network rollouts, increasing management visibility and reducing time and money lost to data inconsistency and manual errors Improves control of project delivery costs, to ensure what is built is on time and on budget Enables better tracking of assets through rollouts, upgrades and movements between sites leading to more efficient asset utilization Ensures legal and regulatory compliance 4 Clarity Simplifying Operations
Network Asset Controller knows the exact location of any physical asset in the network; active or passive, serialized or consumable. It tracks the full equipment lifecycle, storing location and status information, and provides a full audit history of all asset transactions. It includes tools to collect asset information from bar-codes and RFID readers and tools to reconcile these with asset registers, such as BOM or FAR, to confirm asset builds, identify asset loss and identify undocumented movements. Key Features Figure 2: Network Project Controller, executing and monitoring change. Management of all physical network inventory, including outside plant, passive equipment, bulk accessories and consumables Figure 3: GIS visualization of projects. Clarity Infrastructure Management Products Network Project Controller helps operators orchestrate, manage and control the technical, commercial, legal, estates and regulatory activities required for network rollouts, upgrades, decommission and co-location. It helps operators achieve substantial capital and operational savings by increasing the efficiency of internal and external contractor activities and cost tracking throughout the project. Key Features Project management tools with extensible templates for telecommunication rollout activities Baseline reporting and forecasting for indicative, estimated and actual time and costs Coordination between the technical planning and financial requisition of assets Active project management, with automated and manual task initiation for scheduled activities, and notification of tasks in jeopardy Resource scenario planning to identify the most effective way to spend capital funds including tracking of candidate sites, GIS visualization of projects, surveys, candidate selection and approval, site acquisition and obtaining leases Tracking permit applications/appeals, Health and Safety certificates and documents and other required implementation documentation Management of full inventory lifecycle from planning through to decommissioning Integral Number Management for control of asset IDs through barcodes or RFID Supports remote access with a specialized Mobile Client for field reconciliation activities Comprehensive and fully traceable check-in (Goods Received Notice), check-out and Works Orders for asset movements Supports site audits and asset reconciliation with pre-integration to bar-code and RFID scanners Network Asset Controller allows for maintenance policies to be set against equipment items, network elements or divisions of property. Maintenance schedules are generated for all assets to ensure optimal life expectancy; minimizing the occurrence and cost of unexpected failures. Clarity Simplifying Operations 5
