References, 2006-09-01 2 References, Reference List Staffan Granström, the president and one of the owners of, is Swedish citizen and has engineering degrees in mechanical and electrical technology and long experience from mechanical design, electrical design, calculation and process technology of electrical furnaces for metallurgical industries. Staffan Granström has 17 years of experience from employment for ASEA AB, now ABB, and 23 years of experience as consult for steel plants and suppliers of steel plant equipment all over the word and in industrial engineering especially of high temperature scrap preheating combined with post combustion of organic compounds, such as hydrocarbons, chlorinated aromatics and dioxins, development of computers programs and simulations of arc furnace operations. 1980 to 1984 Staffan Granström was member of the UIE Disturbances Committee for development of the international recognised flicker meter, the UIE meter. Apart of the enclosed personal references of Staffan Granström, he has with beginning of 1987, carried out a lot of consultant services for different steel plants in Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, Scandinavia and North America. The commissions have basically included production and cost evaluation studies around the electrical melt shop and dimensioning and basic engineering of furnace transformers with series reactors for high power and power factor operations evaluations of scrap preheating systems, feasibility studies comprising modernisation of steel plant with arc furnaces, high temperature scrap preheating, shaft furnaces, ladle furnaces, phase compensation, process control and gas cleaning systems for arc furnaces and ladle furnaces. These studies have led to substantial improvements in plant operation through new concepts on EAF revamp, guide lines on EAF operation together with Static Var Compensator (SVC) systems and diverse proposals in areas like preheating and precleaning of scrap for increased production, improved environment and increased safety at production of steel to improve plant efficiency under todays tight and restricted environment regulations.
