Advanced Starter Seminars The Advanced Starter Seminars are destined for people who are in a further stage of starting up a company. We treat a number of specific topics more in- depth. Session 1 - Oct 1 Marc Goldchstein of TTI will recap the key concepts that the entrepreneur has to master in his thinking about his venture. Session 2 - Oct 8 Michael Truyen of Eubelius will discuss the elements that a potential investor will raise when negotiating with you: valuation of your startup, different types of shares and clauses, exit preferences... Michael Truyen is Associated Partner at Eubelius, Belgium's largest independent law firm. 13
Session 3 - Oct 15 In this session Guy Huylebroeck, representadve of QBIC, the Venture Capital Fund related to a/o the VUB, will address the following topics: how does QBIC evaluate the potendal of a project and of a team? how does QBIC valuate the project and its contribudon? which specific clauses may QBIC want to include in the shareholder agreement? how will QBIC spread the investment over different stages? moreover the speaker will present the Venture Capital Fund QBIC Session 4 - Oct 22 In this session Marc Goldchstein will discuss how to write and present a business plan. Thomas Crispeels will discuss the tools a Venture Capitalist uses to valuate a business plan. 14
Session 5 - Oct 29 In the fourth session Hugo Loosvelt of the VUB TTI will discuss the reality of licensing Intellectual Property from the VUB. Hugo Loosvelt is a technology transfer officer at the Technology Transfer Interface. He manages the patent porvolio of the university Session 6 - Nov 5 In the fiwh session Wouter Van Roost will discuss the challenges of assembling a func@onal team. Wouter Van Roost is Founding Consultant of FACTOR +, the creators of a management methodology called "PIM" (Pahern Interpretadon and Management) to improve the way people and teams work together. 15
