Offline Data Collector Sharepoint Application This project started under the observation of Microsoft Corporation. The requirement of this project is for government/ public sectors to save their time and manpower. They need an application which have facility to design a form for data collection (like birth certificate and etc.) and that data can be filled by the operators even in absence of internet connectivity. We developed an application which contains two facilities first is for designing an excel form as per their requirement by using drag and drop option and second is offline data collection in Macro enabled Excel Workbook. By this users can download the form after logging in with their credentials on Sharepoint Site. Data could be collected even when the system is offline. User can upload data on Sharepoint Site with attachments. Geo tagging of Kumbh Mela Kumbh-2013 Kumbh Mela was spread in 60 km 2 area. Whole Mela area with all its 14 sectors, road networks, government offices, shops, police stations, fire stations, sansthas, pontoon bridges were proposed to be surveyed through geo-tagging. 100 million devotees were supposed to be inhabited within a month. The biggest challenge for us was lack of proper mobile connectivity. Thus we were supposed to have an offline solution that enables the surveyors to tag the location even when their devices were not in network. We built an android application which was given through mobile with GPS capabilities. The solution was made such that whole surveyed data could be synced when the mobile gets into network. By this team surveyed whole Mela area including all sectors with ease. 18
Field Data Collector Android Application This project started under the observation of Bihar e-governance Services & Technologies Limited (BeST). Bihar is the third largest producer of vegetables and fourth largest producer of fruits in India. For continuous improvement and motivation government was running Save the Orchards campaign. Since the area of operation was geographically huge and it was quite challenging for the staff to carry laptops, fill data and create spreadsheets. They were facing many problems as manual computation error, delay in data collection, unavailability of centralized database at central level, generation of MIS reports and tagging of orchards locations on Google maps. We developed a web application hosted on Cloud with smart phone Field Data Collector it works on handheld device which contains the prescribed survey form as per survey requirement. Field staff can carry handheld device with this preloaded application. During survey, surveyor can fill up the required information and capture geo tagged time stamped photographs directly onto the device. Statistical Surveyor Sharepoint Application This project started under the observation of Bihar e-governance Services & Technologies Limited (BeST). Agriculture department of Bihar wanted to collect details of all lands of every village with their crops of different seasons (like Aghani, Bhadai) and they required a Statistical Report to analyze agriculture status of state. Data collection in No Network Area and uploading the data on centralized server was the biggest issue of the project, and they required an efficient and secured platform to show the data in form of reports and charts. 19 We opted for Microsoft SharePoint 2010 as web platform since it is secure and well managed, Android tablet as data collector device with our android specific applications Suveyor and Autouploader as windows application utility. Surveyor is an android application, used to collect data. Through this application the
the electronic survey form could be filled on the tablet even in no network area. This automatic uploading of data was possible through our application Autouploader. Uploading process first checks the format of the data and then uploads it to the server. Parcel Delivery System i-phone application We did this project for Hot - Dock Production Pte. Ltd. The client is based in Singapore and manages local parcel delivery services. Client wanted to upgrade the parcel delivery system and customer satisfaction by delivering parcels within time. The business fundamental of the client was to deliver the parcels to the customers within an hour. For the delivery purpose bikers were employed. Client faced problem in getting the status of the biker and availability of the bikers. To get rid of this problem client wanted a solution that could help the biker to update the status exactly at the time of delivery and the client could stay updated at any point of time. To resolve this problem we provided a Delivery System which can handle record of different kind of parcels online and a mobile application for bikers and their customer. Mobile application was developed on ios platform for iphone on which customers had feature to track their parcels and bikers can use that application to update the status of parcels. Disaster Recovery Center Setup Department of Commercial Tax, Uttar Pradesh Department of Commercial Tax, Uttar Pradesh wanted to set up Disaster Recovery System at its head office in Lucknow that could restore systems and data in the event of partial or complete failure of computers due to natural or technical causes. 20 Existing infrastructure of Data Centre was analyzed first. This analysis took around one week. The job was supposed to be
done within 3 weeks from then. Two types of clusters were created, application cluster and database cluster. Application cluster was the combination of seven physical systems. 20 virtual machines were created on this application cluster. Virtual machines were attached to network load balance (NLB). 4 SQL database servers were installed on database cluster. Replication of Data Centre s data into Data Recovery System was required. Replication was done by log-shipping through FTP. We were able to replicate data from Data Centre to Data Recovery System with ease. 21
