Water-Bee Smart Irrigation System DA Efficient water management is a global environmental need. ü 40% of the worlds food is produced by irrigated agriculture ü IrrigaIon uses 70% of all fresh water, 60% of this is wasted. ü 255 million hectares are irrigated worldwide (60 million in Europe) ü In Italy and Spain, 50% of agricultural producion is irrigated, accouning for 60% of its value ü Smart IrrigaIon is esimated to be a 1.7billion market by 2020. Ø Efficient irrigaion scheduling requires that soil water potenials within the root zone are maintained within certain boundaries. Ø Precise control of soil water can also be used to manipulate physiological responses of crops to increase water use efficiency, or to control the balance between reproducive and vegetaive growth, or to improve crop quality. Ø The majority of farmers use their own judgment to decide when to irrigate and how much, but ofen tend to be risk- averse and wasteful of water. 4

Overview of WaterBee Smart Irrigation System A complete, resilient, cost- effec;ve state- of- the- art Smart Irriga;on and Water Management system Web driven wireless sensor networked irrigaion system Centrally monitored through the WaterBee Server Soil- moisture Model to opimise water use for each Grower. Services provided through Local Business Partners, who work closely with their Growers. 5

WaterBee Benefits & Advantages WaterBee helps Growers Ø make be\er crop irriga;on decisions Ø realize more profit per hectares Ø efficiently use of water & other farm inputs WaterBee is a full- service solu;on for Irriga;on Management that is reliable, accurate & easy- to- use. It enables Farmers, Growers & Landscape Managers to gain higher quality plants greater yields lower opera;ng costs WaterBee provides Ø Greater control over irrigaion needs more profit per hectares through efficient use of water & other inputs Ø Reliable, real- Ime informaion & sofware tools in the right place at the right Ime û on easy- to- use Smartphone & Web Apps that support informed decision making Ø Accurate & complete informaion on field condiions Ø Full service means no worries about sofware support or equipment maintenance 6

Current Status of WaterBee System currently on Beta Trials with various crops at very different growing situaions across Europe in Estonia, Italy, Malta, Spain, Sweden and the UK. Reference Sites aim to demonstrate the following benefits for the Growers involved: IrrigaIon Water savings of 40%. Higher producivity by reduced Ime spent planning irrigaions by 50% Improved plant health leading to 5% increased yields. Increased crop quality leading to 10% higher profitability for growers 10
