Master of Business Administration
PROGRAMME Provides a higher university of applied sciences degree: Master of Business Administration Produces the same qualification for public office and commercial positions as an academic master s degree from traditional universities
International Business Management Studies leading to the Master s degree provide the student with broad and advanced knowledge and the skills for developing the professional field and the theoretical skills for working in demanding expert and leadership positions in the field; a profound understanding of the field, its relation to working life and society at large as well as the knowledge and skills needed for following and analysing both theoretical and professional developments in the field; the capacity for life-long learning and the continuous development of one s own expertise; good language and communication skills required in working life; and the knowledge and skills needed to function and communicate in the field internationally.

LEARNING METHODS Part-time (can be completed alongside a normal day job) or fulltime studies Learning consists of cooperative learning processes, independent working, contact lessons, e-learning, seminars and a research-oriented development project Each course two or three two-day contact lessons in a month Contact lessons are organised in evenings and on Fridays and Saturdays in Lahti or in Hämeenlinna
PREQUISITES Bachelor-level degree Business-related bachelor-level degree (for example Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, BBA) Other Bachelor Degree if applicant has gained sufficient business skills through business management duties 3 year s work experience in the field of bachelor degree after graduation Those who have completed college-level or vocational qualification, worked for three years after that and then started bachelor degree studies can be accepted
PREQUISITES A solid command of English is required. In order to prove your English language skills, you must provide one of the following minimum requirements: IELTS score academic level 6.0 or TOEFL score 550 paper-based test or 79-80 Internetbased test or grade C in the Finnish matriculation examination in advanced level English (IB-examination grade 4 completed in Finland or Reifeprüfungexamination grade 7 completed in Finland or EB-examination grade 6.00-6.95) or skills level 4 in English in the Finnish general language examination or a bachelor's or master's degree conducted in English in an EU/ETA country or some of the following countries: United States of America, Canada, Australia or New Zealand.
APPLICATION Application period: 9 January - 30 March 2012 Entrance examinations will be held in Lahti May 3, 2012 The examination includes 1) an examination based on written materials (there is no pre-reading material), and 2) an individual interview.
