05 General Information LANGUAGE, SCHEDULE, DRESS CODE All Dräger technical education courses are conducted using the English language and begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. (classrooms open at 8:00 a.m.) and end at 4:30 p.m. every day. Dress code is business casual. No shorts or open toe shoes are permitted. PRE-REQUISITES AND CONTENT The courses are designed with the idea that the participants have been exposed to the general function of the product(s) being discussed. Dräger does not perform component repairs to printed circuit board assemblies in the field and accordingly does not recommend the participant doing so. Component repairs are done only at Dräger s manufacturing plant by specifically trained technicians, using appropriate and sophisticated test fixtures and equipment. All courses have been designed with this philosophy in mind. COPYRIGHT What you see and hear during all Dräger technical courses are copyrighted and the property of Dräger. Audio and video recordings are not permitted. TUITION Your tuition payment covers the cost of all course materials, instruction, lunch and refreshments. Prices are subject to change without notice. All travel, expenses and hotel accommodations, including meals outside of Dräger, are the sole responsibility of each registered participant. Tuition payment MUST be provided at the time of registration. REGISTRATION AND CONFIRMATION Seminar space is limited and students are enrolled on a first-come, first-served basis. A letter of confirmation will be sent to the registrant via U.S. Mail, fax or email to confirm registration. Read this letter carefully. If corrections are needed, contact our Triage Center immediately. COURSE MATERIALS All technical service manuals and service-related materials are in electronic format only. Each student will receive a one year license (from the date training was completed) to ServiceConnect which provides access to the technical documentation for which the student is trained. A signed license agreement is required to access ServiceConnect and is available for purchase beyond the first year. For minimum computer requirements and a brief description of the ServiceConnect software and additional forms required to receive this software, please contact the DrägerService Triage Center at 800-437-2437, option 4. TESTING Each course concludes with a timed written or practical exam. Seminar participants must attain a grade of 70% or better to satisfactorily complete each course. Certificates and Continuing Education Units (CEU s) are only issued following satisfactory completion for the course. A grade transcript will be issued upon request for a nominal fee. Those participants that attain a grade less than 70% can retest for a $300.00 administrative fee which can be taken the same day (time permitting) or within a six month period. Attendance and successful completion of a technical education course does not guarantee that the participant may purchase parts for repair or replacement from Dräger. Nor does it imply that the participant has a complete working knowledge of Dräger equipment. It is the institution s responsibility to determine the technical aptitude of the technician. Attendance and successful completion of the Monitoring and Healthcare IT training courses does not prepare the student for installation or configuration of Dräger s complex systems. The courses are designed to provide basic information for first call troubleshooting and basic repairs. These systems should be installed by an appropriately trained Dräger representative(s), under the guidelines of approved procedures established by Dräger. CANCELLATION POLICY Substitute attendees are not permitted. Training either purchased by a healthcare institution or included in a strategic alliance agreement, may only be used by individuals directly employed by that healthcare institution. Cancellations received, in writing, 15 business days prior to the course will not be billed for the seminar. A fee of 50% of the total tuition will be charged for cancellations less than 15 business days of the scheduled seminar date. Please note that if you do not cancel in writing and do not attend, you are still responsible for payment. Dräger reserves the right to cancel or change the course dates due to low enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. If Dräger cancels a course, you will be provided with a minimum of 15 business day s notice and the full tuition will be refunded or applied toward any future course. Cancelled students will be placed on a priority list for the next available course. Dräger cannot be held liable for non-refundable travel expenses in the event of a course cancellation.
