Access Panel Representative Off-line Recruited A national panel with over 260,000 households and 900,000 individuals. The Access Panel is recruited off-line, starting from a random-based kernel sample in 1984. The kernel sample was based on random sampling from the national register which listed all residents and their household addresses. (This register is no longer available for marketing research purposes.) The Access Panel members generally remain active for several years and are highly responsive to surveys about 70% response to most surveys. 9

Online Consumer Panels for Low % Targets Among the offline-recruited Access Panel, 160,000 individualsareavailableforonlinesurveys. In addition to the Access Panel, we partner with several well-established consumer research panels, with a total of over 3,000,000 member email addresses. With this large sample pool, even small incidence populations can be recruited and interviewed. Members are profiled on many relevant dimensions such as income, media use, travel, etc. so finding the right respondents for a survey is quick. 10

B2B Panels Industry and Job Targeting Based on extensive B2B interviewing, we have built up a database of B2B respondents in several industries, corresponding to SIC codes. In addition to our database, we have pre-identified tens of thousands of B2B respondents on online panels. These B2B respondents are profiled on many dimensions - such as industry, job level, type of company, etc. so finding the right B2B respondents is quick and easy. All B2B respondents can be recruited to quantitative surveys, as well as qualitative research. 11

Healthcare Professional Panels Target Specialists We utilize an online panel of healthcare professionals as well as databases that have been developed based on our experience over time. With more than 10,000 healthcare professionals online and over 30,000 available overall, a variety of specialties can be recruited. Healthcare professionals can be recruited for online, telephone and in-person quantitative interviewing, as well as qualitative research. 12

Patient Panels For Sensitive or Rare Conditions Patients who have been diagnosed for or treated for specific conditions are identified on our Access Panel. Because of the long-term stability of the Access Panel, it is an excellent source for studies over time, or for sensitive health conditions. In addition to the Access Panel, over 100,000 online panelists with specific conditions have been pre-identified. So, larger samples of lower incidence conditions or treatments can be recruited and interviewed. 13

CATI Services For consumers, we sample from over 900,000 individualsacross260,000householdsinouraccess Panelorfree-findRDDsample.ForB2B respondents, weutilizeourb2bdatabaseaswellasbusiness directoriesforbroadercoverage. We script interviews on our own server. In addition, we can use CAWI to access surveys hosted on your server so that data is collected directly on your server. We have 50 CATI stations and can access additional resources if necessary to complete projects quickly. All audiences can be reached by CATI Consumers B2B Medical 16

In-hall/ CAWI We pre-recruit from our Access Panel or other online panels or free-find through street intercept. Use our hall facilities in central Tokyo and Osaka, - and additional facilities in other regions. Our facilities seat up to 40 respondents, and have kitchens. In addition, we maintain Japan s most sophisticated Retail Lab - a fully stocked shop mock-up. Shopper behavior at the shelf and in the aisles is fully captured by multiple video cameras All facilities can be set up with a variety of equipment, such as display shelves, product testing materials, video recording, food preparation, etc. Interviews can be conducted using CAPI or CAWI, delivering data directly over the internet. 17

Mail / Home Use Tests We sample from our 260,000 household Access Panel or from online panels. Send out mail surveys by post. Send out and retrieve sample products for home-use testing by express delivery. All types of products can be tested including FMCG food and non-food, as well as durables. Interviews can be conducted by a variety of methods including self-completion mail, online surveys, CATI, or in-person. 21
