Learn how to recognize Sudden Cardiac Arrest in an emergency situation and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). A live fire prop will aid with a demonstration by trained Clallam County District #3 fire personnel of the most effective use of a fire extinguisher. This portion of the class will be held outdoors. They will describe how law enforcement tactics have changed and evolved as a result of what they learned from case studies to empower teachers and staff by passing on the knowledge gained about this phenomenon. In this workshop for understanding autistic/sensory kids, participants will be introduced to what may be expected of an autistic student including some of the ways autistic people think and react. Participants will be provided with strategies for working with autistic students. This workshop will be part lecture and part group discussion/question and answer. No previous coursework or experience required.
