Middlesex Community College (MCC) & Saint Joseph s College of Maine Division of Graduate and Professional Studies (SJC/GPS) + 1 Articulation Agreement This articulation agreement, which is effective on the date of the final signature, provides transfer admission opportunities for academically qualified students and graduates of Middlesex Community College (MCC), who are interested in completing their associate s/bachelor s degree through the Division of Graduate and Professional Studies at Saint Joseph s College of Maine (SJC/GPS). For the bachelor s degree, students may complete a maximum of 95 community college transferrable freshman and sophomore (100/200-level) credits and a minimum of SJC/GPS credits, including all SJC/GPS curriculum required 00/400-level courses, as specified in the accompanying degree plan tables. Diagnostic Medical Sonography B.S. Health Administration Requirements for Eligible Students I. Students seeking admission and entering SJC/GPS must be in good standing with MCC and meet any specific admission and enrollment standards and requirements for the applicable program. II. III. MCC students need to submit an application and official transcripts from MCC, as well as any other educational institutions previously attended. The accompanying degree plan tables outline programs most suitable for articulation with MCC and SJC/GPS. All transcripts will be reviewed on an individual basis.
IV. SJC/GPS will accept for admission a degree candidate who has earned a grade point average of 2.0 or better (based on a 4.0 scale). For students matriculating into the Radiologic Science Administration Program, the minimum GPA is 2.5. The student must be in good standing with MCC and meet any specific admission and enrollment standards and requirements for the program at SJC/GPS. V. If a student does not have the foundation or skill to enroll in an upper level course because he/she has not taken the appropriate introductory courses, he/she will be required to take any necessary prerequisite(s). VI. VII. Students entering with an Associate s degree in a suitable program will be required to meet SJC/GPS s 128-credit Bachelor s degree requirements. All 00/400-level courses and no less than credits must be completed through SJC/GPS. See degree plan tables for program-specific information. Students who are planning to use Financial Aid to cover the cost of courses while concurrently enrolled in courses both at MCC and SJC/GPS Are required to complete a consortium agreement to be signed by both Financial Aid departments. Financial aid will be disbursed through SJC/GPS. Benefits to Eligible Students I. MCC students with an earned Associates Degree in an appropriate discipline, with the minimum discipline core credits and Liberal Arts & Science credits as reflected in the accompanying degree plan tables, will be accepted to the Division of Graduate and Professional Studies at Saint Joseph s College of Maine. II. MCC students accepted to SJC/GPS will receive academic credit for all college level courses that were successfully completed with a letter grade of C or better and are deemed comparable to current SJC/GPS courses. Non-credit or remedial courses will not be accepted for transfer credit and/or graduation requirements. III. Saint Joseph s College of Maine agrees to waive the application fee for all students of MCC. IV. SJC/GPS values prior formal learning and career-based experiences. The College follows the American Council on Education (ACE) guidelines in granting transfer credit. Terms of Agreement I. This agreement will be reviewed annually and may be revised by mutual consent. In addition, SJC/GPS and MCC agree to notify one another in writing, at least one semester in advance, of program changes that might affect the transfer of students under this agreement. II. Both Colleges agree to the right to use each other s names in print and media advertising to the public for the purpose of marketing the programs described herein. MCC and SJC/GPS, recognizing the importance of providing a seamless coordination between the associate and bachelor degree enrollment, hereby enter into an Articulation Agreement.
