Introduction of target model 1. As of 1 October 2013 the target model for the procurement of balancing gas and services was implemented 2. Key aspect of the target model is a pre-defined merit order list, which is primarily aimed at increasing liquidity on the exchange. 3. Quality-specific order books introduced at EEX as of October 2013 4. Also, GASPOOL implemented a new option product, which takes priority over the established parking and lending flexibility service. 10 June 2014 7
Gas quality conversion mechanism Currently, a conversion fee of 1.18/MWh is applied irrespective of the direction of conversion. If conversion costs cannot be recovered through conversion fee, BNetzA's KONNI ruling requires MAOs to introduce conversion neutrality charge. 10 June 2014 8

REMIT - Fundamentals Regulation (EU) No 1227/2011 REMIT = Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on wholesale energy market integrity and transparency Aim: EU-wide monitoring of the wholesale trading of electricity and gas, with a view to preventing insider trading, market manipulation or other forms of market abuse Build confidence in the integrity of the electricity and gas markets Target group: any person active in one or more wholesale energy markets who enters into transactions, including the placing of orders to trade (= market participant) New Europe-wide obligations for companies regarding - disclosure of information - reporting to authorities - registration 10 June 2014 14
Other topics 1. TTF trading Implementation of TTF trading planned for this summer. The aim is to ensure a more efficient and diversified procurement of balancing gas. 2. Permanent gas quality changeover Pilot project to be launched as early as 2015; low-cal gas supply is going down in the future, which requires market areas currently supplied by low-cal gas to be migrated to high-cal gas. In order to fund this process, a so-called gas quality changeover neutrality charge will be applied. 3. Security of supply So-called SoS regulation; in Germany: sections 16, 16a and 53a of the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG) Gas Emergency Plan, Cooperation Agreement VII / BDEW best practice guideline on crisis prevention 10 June 2014 15
