Provider Cards 1. Why do my students need to provide their email address? After looking at different options, we decided to give Providers access to their card electronically, which means that we now require their email address. With the new format, Instructors won t have to wait for the rosters, sign and send the cards to their students. The benefits for students: - Immediate access once the course roster is submitted - Retrieval of their card at anytime - Changes can be made within minutes The benefits for Instructors: - No more waiting for course rosters - Providers receive their cards immediately - Less administrative time spent **Remember that the email address has to be unique to the student for them to gain access. If the same email is used for more than one participant, those students will not be able to access their provider card. 2. My institution is asking questions about the new format of the NRP Provider and Instructor cards, what do I tell them? If institutions have questions about the new cards, they may contact CPS Staff at nrp@cps.ca or 613-526-9397 ext 249 or 264. Access to the Neonatal Life Support database 1. The CPS still has access to all prior rosters and is happy to
provide this information upon request to the Instructor. Note: All rosters submitted during your Instructor period will count towards your renewal. Moving forward all rosters submitted will show a detailed page under the My Roster page. 2. When I create a roster, why do I see two different fields for assistant instructor and Team-Teacher? Assistant Instructor = Active NRP Instructor who is co-teaching with the Lead Instructor To add an Assistant Instructor, begin typing their name and it will appear in a drop down menu. When the correct name appears, click on it and it will be added to your roster. Team Teacher = Instructor Candidate that is completing their evaluation to become an Instructor. Mostly Instructor-Trainers and/or delegates will use this feature. This feature is for individuals who are teaching their first NRP course under supervision. **Please do not enter assistant instructors under this category. If the person doesn t appear in either drop-down menus, please contact the CPS staff at nrp@cps.ca or 613-526-9397, ext 249 or 264.
3. When I enter my student s information, do I have to add the student s affiliation/hospital? Yes, the information is required since it is included on their Provider card. This category identifies the participant s primary employment. 4. How do I submit my roster? After entering your student information, click the save and continue button. This will bring you to a course roster overview page. Once you are ready to submit, click submit this course. We hope that the above information answered many of your questions.
