Floodbags: Flood Protec tion Produc ts suitable for various applications For many years sandbags have played too large a part in flood defence thinking. Although they still have their uses, in addition to questions over their hygiene they are now recognised to be labour intensive to fill, transport and deploy. When stored filled, their life-expectancy is low, with supplies often found to have fallen apart when needed. Modern alternatives are lightweight, easily stored and deployed, and some are reusable. IFDP FLOODBAGS IFDP FloodBags: These cost-effective water-absorbent bags weigh only 600g, and have a shelf-life of 5-10 years. In contact with water they expand to over 20kg, making them ideal for absorbing spillage, as well as for their primary role as a flood defence product. The equivalent of over 400kg of sandbags is stored in a compact, easily handled box. Floodwater Bags: These plastic floodbags are filled with water and a special environmentally friendly polymer on site. A team of five can fill over two thousand bags per hour. Supplied with ties to link them together for extra stability, they are a hygienic, reusable and cost-effective alternative to sandbags. Sorbarix: designed with carrying handles for easy repositioning and disposal, Sorbarix cushions absorb up to 23 litres of water. These cushions are of particularly high quality and can quickly absorb both fresh and salt-water. Sorbarix are ideal for soaking up internal seepage.

Caro WaterWall: Waterwall can be manufactured completely bespoke or supplied in standard sizes - up to 120cm panel widths with 200cm post heights. The components are made from cast and extruded aluminium with steel tubes and stainless steel fittings. Waterwall can be deployed quickly and robustly and with the ability to be stored with ease. Suitable for garages and driveways. To Order Floodwall: Floodwall Barriers are made from a high grade aluminium with a powder coat finish they require a permanent sub-frame around the opening. The barrier can be deployed in seconds. Four clip fastenings are used to secure the lightweight barrier to the sub-frame. (Optional locking clips available). Maximum width 3 metres. Drainage Protection: Flood Protec tion Produc ts suitable for residential premises. Where non-return valves are impractical, easy to use and relatively inexpensive bungs and toilet-seals can protect against the sewage being forced into your home. Panseal: This innovative product has an injectionmoulded ABS centrepiece and an inflatable rim. The 'Panseal' is positioned directly below the toilet rim. Air is applied via the Schrader valve and the expansion takes place creating the required seal. To deflate, press the centre plunger of the Schrader valve. (Pump supplied). Toilet Bung: Inflatable heavy duty, rubber bung placed in your toilet and inflated in seconds by hand pump (supplied) creating an air tight seal, preventing sewerage rising and entering property. Deflate to remove. ( Pump supplied). Non-return waste valve: The waste valve is designed to close the waste connection below a sanitary appliance to prevent the escape of foul sewer air and water into the dwelling. The waste Non-Return Valve can be fitted internally or externally. Once installed the valve will prevent water back up entering the property at these points. The valve should be checked for any form of blockage especially sink out-lets that are prone to fat blockages.

An inspection chamber may be required at the point of installation. NRV s can be installed within an existing chamber depending on location. Non Return Valve: The pressure of floodwater can force sewage and waste back into your house if measures aren t taken to prevent it. Non-return valves are installed between your house and the sewer to prevent backflow.
