BACHELOR OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION APPLICATION FORM The Jumbunna Direct Entry Program provides a pathway for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people to be selected for admission to the Bachelor of Business Administration and other courses offered by the University of Technology, Sydney. It is important to note that the program does not replace the formal enrolment process for courses at UTS. All applicants are advised to read the specific requirements for gaining entry to UTS in the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) Guide. Who can apply for admission to UTS through the Jumbunna Direct Entry Program? If you are an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person you can apply for the program. How do I apply? There are two steps in applying for this course via the Jumbunna Direct Entry Program: Step 1 You will need to complete this application form. All relevant supporting documents need to be attached to this form and returned to UTS at the address supplied by the deadline dates noted below. Step 2 You will need to apply through UAC. On time UAC applications* are due at the end of September for admission to first semester the following year. For more information about UAC applications visit: uac.edu.au Your application form will be assessed and if eligible, you will be invited to participate in a two day Bachelor of Business Administration Entry Program on 10-11 November 2015. What should I expect from the Bachelor of Business Administration Entry Program? Over the first day of the program you will undertake a literacy test, a faculty-based test, an information literacy test and engage in a group work project, which culminates in a public speaking presentation. On the second day of the program, applicants are interviewed by a Jumbunna staff member and a faculty staff member in order to ascertain their suitability and their motivation to commit to completing a tertiary degree. How will I be selected? Offers of admission to the Bachelor of Business Administration will be based on a combination of: Performance in our two day program References Equivalent qualifications (based on previous education and/or work experience) Successful applicants will be asked to participate in the Jumbunna Learning Development Program and orientation programs provided by Jumbunna. The Jumbunna Learning Development Program provides academic skills development in literacy and numeracy and runs concurrently with your first year of study. It is designed to enable you to achieve academic success. All students in the Direct Entry Program are expected to participate. Some applicants may also be asked to attend other bridging programs held prior to classes commencing. When will I find out if I have been selected? Applicants will be notified by UTS Business School in the weeks following the program and by UAC on their website in January. Please refer to the FAQ document enclosed for further important information about the BBA. Please retain a copy of your application including this page for your own records. *Applicants are encouraged to apply before the closing date for on-time applications, as the cost of a UAC application increases after this by more than $100.
