Monitoring with LogicMonitor iphouse has chosen LogicMonitor to offer a Software as a Service (SaaS) monitoring solution. Finally, an affordable, effortless, comprehensive monitoring service for every type of business, on any network. 6/26/2012
Single Agent LogicMonitor requires only one agent (Windows or Linux) installed on a single system on your network to monitor any number of systems on your network. It is also flexible; you have the option of installing additional agents on multiple systems to create redundancy in data collection and spread the load. LogicMonitor securely operates behind your firewall - only outgoing port 443 (HTTPS) is needed for data collection to occur.
Uses Native Interfaces Monitor Devices using native interfaces Servers via SNMP (UNIX, Linux, *BSD, Windows) Servers via WMI (Windows Server systems) Routers (Cisco, Juniper, etc.) Switches (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, etc.) Storage Systems (NetApp, HP, EMC, etc.) Hypervisors (VMware, Citrix, Xen, KVM) Load balancers (F5, NetScaler, etc.) Database Engines (SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, etc.) Server Applications (Exchange, Apache, IIS, nginx, Tomcat) Firewalls (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, etc.)
LogicMonitor has over 500 datasources on which it discovers and automatically begins data collection. You can also create your own. Dynamic graphing of all collected data is automatic. Measurement and graphing CPU Apache
Thresholds and Alerts All datasources have built-in default thresholds that are ideal for most businesses. Thresholds can be easily adjusted on a per-instance basis if your organization has custom requirements. Automatic alerts are managed just as easily.
Gives Advice Hovering over an alert gives you detailed information including advice on what may actually be happening and how to prevent it.
Linux Server Data Gathering One Host - Many datasources
Windows Server Data Gathering Windows Server 2008 R2 using SNMP and WMI Information can be gathered on Exchange, DNS Service, IIS, Event Log, and RDS.
Juniper Router Data Gathering Juniper Router Information can be gathered on routing protocols (BGP/OSPF), interface statistics, SNMP trapping, temperature, and Juniper specific components.
Auto-discovery Notifications Above example of VMware + DRS + vmotion
Multiple Datasource Dashboards VMware vsphere API, 6 hosts via vcenter Many Hosts - Many datasources NetApp API, 2 controllers, multiple shelves
At-a-Glance Dashboards Warning alerts allow you to proactively manage your systems, preventing possible issues that may affect your systems and users.
Superior Monitoring iphouse chose LogicMonitor after extensive research and testing. Again and again, LogicMonitor proved superior to other venders. Time Investment Monitoring & Measurement Cloud Service Inbound Access Required Proprietary Agent Required Native API Service Autodiscovery Ease of Use LogicMonitor Low Yes/Yes Yes No No Yes Yes **** Nagios High Yes/No No Yes Sometimes No No * Nimsoft Medium Yes/Yes No Maybe Yes Varied No *** Zabbix Medium Yes/Yes No Yes Yes No No *** Zenoss High Yes/Yes No Yes No Varied No ** OpenNMS High Yes/Yes No Yes Sometimes No No **
Why we chose LogicMonitor In our testing we found the following weaknesses in other monitoring packages. The setup is too complex and time consuming which made it unlikely that customers would continue to add devices as their network changed and grew. Invasive add-on software required to be installed on every device monitored, not just one agent on the network using the built-in tools in each monitored system. Did either monitoring or measurement but not both, or if it did both they were not, both, done well.
Trusted Partner iphouse uses LogicMonitor for all our internal systems and managed customer deployments. Its features and reliability make it easy to use and smart to trust. LogicMonitor enables administrators to proactively manage networks for better performance and stability. iphouse has partnered with LogicMonitor to offer the benefits of LogicMonitor s solutions for all your devices and networks.
