He ordered some supplies which were to be delivered on Monday and that he would finish the job as soon as possible. Mr. Skrumbis will let Joe know that Maureen is dissatisfied with his timelessness and work. After investigating Mrs. Leavitt s claim that there were people on the field on Sunday afternoon, we have come to find out that an employee of Sierra Canyon employees went to the Baseball Field on Sunday to check that the newly
planted sod is being irrigated properly, as he generally does over the weekends. He took his family with him and stayed for a longer time than usual. We have asked him not to extend his visits going forward. 6.15.14 Maureen Levitt called. Athletes used the athletic field on 6.15.14 and the CUP does not allow field use on a Sunday. Response: This week Variel between Chatsworth and Rinaldi Street was closed for two days for repaving. Detour signs, placed by the street services crew, sent people to either
Independence Ave. or Canoga Ave. For those few families who came down Independence, we reminded them of our obligation to not use this street. Upon exiting they complied. 8.15.14 Calls from Maureen Levitt and Jeannie Plumb regarding the noise level coming from the Lower Campus Sierra Canyon Day Camp. The lights shine into his bedroom making sleep more difficult. Response: The manufacturer has stipulated the lights have to burn for 100 consecutive hours. The lights will be turned off 100 hours from when they were first turned on sometime Tuesday night. The Help Desk called Mr. Roady back and passed this information onto him. 9.16.14 Maureen Levitt called to ask if 2 sets of lights from the football field could be re-directed and tweaked a little. She lives in the second house in on Independence and says some lights shine into her backyard. The lights are on the poles in the field facing Brown s Canyon. An email was also sent to the Lower Campus Administrative Assistants to remind them whenever possible, to ask drivers to use Variel Avenue when making deliveries. 10.17.14 Neighbor Maureen Levitt called Friday evening and left a voice message on the Help Desk line to say that she could hear everything going on the Lower Campus because of the amplified noise. She asked us not to use amplification, and she will let the city know. 10.20.14 Neighbor Jeannie Plumb called to say that she could hear everything organizers said to students on Friday night and asks that we not use amplification. It is against our CUP to have amplified noise. Response: Several times during the Special Event, the School s security guards and CUP coordinator left the facility to ensure that the public address system s sound did not escape the school s confines. Only low pressure speakers were used, as per the Conditional Use Permit. The event also concluded by 9:00 p.m. as per the CUP. We expect this to continue until the project is completed. 11.11.14 Jeannie Plumb called asking that the name of the person from Sierra Canyon who responses to one of her calls be posted on the website. She says that the response is not always accurate, and she wants to know who she can then respond to. She said that posting her name is a form of bullying and the SC responder s name should also be posted. Response: Per the consent decree, The School shall maintain a log of all complaints or concerns, the dates on which they were received, the persons submitting the complaint or concern, the responses given and any corrective action taken, and the dates of the responses and any corrective actions. The School has a committee that responds to these issues, not an individual. The School is listing those who complain as it is required of in the consent decree. 11.24.14 Neighbor, Maureen Levitt, called to say there are a lot of cars parked around the school and cars using Independence Avenue. Response: The School had an event to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. The event was for parents, students and their families. The School s security department witnessed several vehicles using Independence Ave. In discussions with these individuals, it became clear that they were at Sierra Canyon and not Chatsworth Hills Academy which hosted an event today as well. 11.24.14 Neighbor, Jeannie Plumb, called asking about the posting on our website for a Athletic Field Opening on December 4th. She said the website advertises soccer games, and she assumes this means other schools will be playing against our teams on the field. She said we are not allowed to use the parking lot unless we have a certificate of occupancy from the city. Response: The School is aware of its legal obligations with the city as it relates to what it can and cannot due as it relates to interscholastic competition based on a certificate of occupancy.
