AT-S100 Version 1.0.3 Patch 1 Management Software for the AT-9000/28 Managed Layer 2 GE ecoswitch and AT-9000/28SP Managed Layer 2 GE ecoswitch Software Release Notes Please read this document before you begin to use the management software. Supported Platforms The AT-S100 Version 1.0.3 Patch 1 Management Software is supported on the AT-9000/28 and AT-9000/28SP switches. Product Documentation For hardware installation instructions, refer to the following guide: AT-9000/28 and AT-9000/28SP AT-9000 Managed Layer 2 GE ecoswitch Family Installation Guide For management instructions, refer to the following guide: AT-S100 Management Software User s Guide The AT-S100 Management Software User s Guide lists the commands supported in the software. In addition, this guide applies to both the AT-9000/28 and AT-9000/28SP switches. Both documents are available from the Allied Telesis web site at www.alliedtelesis.com. What s New in Version 1.0.3 Patch 1 There are no new software or hardware features added to this release. For a complete list of AT-S100 Management Software and AT-9000 switch features, see Feature History on page 4. PN 613-001142 Rev A 1

Known Issues The following issues were found in this release: Port mirroring issue. Packets are dropped when configuring the port mirroring feature and the direction is displayed as transmit. (6519) Incorrect NTP status. Network Time Protocol (NTP) status is not updated to reflect successful clock synchronization. (6545) Port ranges unsupported. Port ranges are not supported in the Command Line Interface (CLI) or in the web interface. (6551) Disabling Telnet session. After disabling an active Telnet session, the switch does not close the session and it displays error messages. (6558) SNMP Community Names and Passwords. When configuring Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), you must first configure a community name with the SNMP-SERVER COMMUNITY command. Then you must assign a password to this community with the SNMP-SERVER HOST command. In addition, you must set the community name and the password to the same value. For example, if you create a community name of Allied6, then the password must also be Allied6. (6617) IGMP Host is not flushed. When an IGMP host member of the multicast group is linked down, the host remains in the IGMP table and is not flushed from the table. (6690) Flooding of MAC Addresses. The switch floods reserved group MAC addresses, such as 01: 80:C2:00:00:01. (6552) Switch limits number of VLANs. The switch allows creation of 254 VLANs maximum. (6562) Manager and Operator privilege levels. The manager login and the operator login have the same privilege level. When a user logs as an operator, the user can do everything in the AT-S100 software configuration that the manager login permits. (6516) Work around: To ensure that the operator login is forced to enter a password before accessing the Privileged Executive mode, use the ENABLE SECRET command. The following command assigns aloha5551212 as the password for the operator login to access the privilege executive mode: switch#configure terminal switch(config)#enable secret aloha5551212 Port LEDs. When an combination fiber port is disconnected, the LED remains lit. (6777) Resolved Issues The following issues were resolved in release AT-S100 V1.0.3 Patch 1: Mode switch LED. There was an issue with selecting the MODE SELECT switch on the front panel and the display of the associated Mode LED. This issue has been resolved. (6879) Jumbo Frame Drop Issue. There was an issue with the switch dropping jumbo frames on SFP ports. This issue has been resolved. (6886) PN 613-001142 Rev A 2 Allied Telesis, Inc.

The following issue was resolved in release AT-S100 V1.0.2: Distribution method for Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP). You cannot change the distribution method of LACP unless both ends are configured. (6669) Operational Notes The following issues are noted in this release: DHCP issue with Windows 2000 DHCP Server. The AT-9000 switch will not work with a Microsoft Windows 2000 Server unless its configuration has been modified. Workaround: Use the instructions on the following website: www.microsoft.com/technet/ prodtechnol/windows2000serv/reskit/regentry/46679.mspx?mfr=true (6590) Web Interface. In Internet Explorer, updates to the LACP and Static Trunking web pages are not always displayed. Workaround: Use the Refresh key to display updates to the LACP and Static Trunking web pages. (6759) PN 613-001142 Rev A 3 Allied Telesis, Inc.

Upgrading the AT-S100 Software To upgrade an AT-9000 switch with the latest version of the AT-S100 software, you need to download the software onto your switch with an TFTP server. To obtain the latest version of the AT-S100 software, go to our website, www.alliedtelesis.com and copy it on your PC. You can use the following procedure to upgrade either the AT-S100 V1.0.2 or the AT-S100 V1.0.3 software to the AT-S100 V1.0.3 Patch 1 software. In order to upgrade the AT-S100 software, there is one image file called ATS100_ATI_v103_Patch_01.img that you need to download onto your switch. You do not need to upgrade the bootloader file. For more information about the commands listed in the following procedure, see the AT-S100 Management Software User s Guide. Upgrading the Software to AT-S100 V1.0.3 Patch 1 1. Check the current version installed on your switch, enter the SHOW VERSION command.
