Ports and Logistics Through Tertir, Mota-Engil engages in port activity, distinguishing itself as the leader of the logistics sector in Portugal. Waste Management With a majority holding in SUMA, the largest operator in waste collection, management and recycling in Portugal, Mota-Engil is fulfilling its ambition to lead this sector, operating increasingly in Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Poland and more recently in Mexico. Water Concession Through INDAQUA, Mota-Engil is engaged in the management and operation of municipal water concessions, an area in which it holds an important position in the Portuguese market, present also in Angola and Macau. Multiservices As a complement to its activities in the area of the construction and management of infrastructures, Mota-Engil is working in the area Maintenance through Manvia, a major company in this field in Portugal with operations in Africa, as well. Additionally, the Group is involved in Landscape Architecture, through Vibeiras, a leader in Portugal in this segment, which has done significant works in Africa. Transport Concessions Mota-Engil assumes an important role in the management of an infrastructure concession which holds a network of over 3000 km, operating in Portugal, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Mozambique and more recently in Colombia. Mining This sector is the most recent bet of the Mota-Engil Group, as Mota-Engil Mining has undertaken prospecting projects in Africa, benefitting from the Group s long experience gained in the execution of civil construction and earthmoving projects. The Group s growing bet in Angola in other areas of business such as environment, logistics and industry is also relevant. Infrastructure Concessions and Services Concessions in Portugal Transportation Infrastructures Operation of seven highway concessions under the Ascendi name, with approximately 1,300 km of highways and motorways: North, Costa de Prata, Beira Litoral and Beira Alta, Greater Porto, Greater Lisbon, Douro Interior, Pinhal Interior. Infrastructure Concession and Services International Concessions Roads and Highways Mota-Engil has been strengthening its position in the segment of Concessions of Transport Infrastructures, through Ascendi. Besides its operations in Portugal, the company is present in five other countries on three continents, managing a network of more than 3000 km under concession. Ports Mota-Engil is responsible for the concession of the port of Paita, in Peru, through TPE Terminais Portuários Euroandinos, over a period of 30 years. In Spain, through its subsidiary FCT Ferrol Container Terminal, the Group assumed the construction, equipping and operation of the container terminal of Puerto Exterior de Ferrol for 35 years. In Malawi and since 2013, through Malawi Shipping Company, the Group operates 4 ports in Lake Malawi, in a 35 - year concession. Waste Mota-Engil is present internationally in the area of waste, in Africa, Central Europe and Latin America, supported by the know-how of its subsidiary SUMA, which, as a clear leader in Portugal, has the capacity and experience in the integrated management of waste that allows it to efficiently contribute to a better environment and an improved quality of life for the inhabitants of the countries where it is operating. Water Through its subsidiary INDAQUA, Mota-Engil is responsible for the management of the waste water treatment plant (WWTP) of Macau. This operation includes the development and maintenance of the structure for waste water treatment that will serve over 500 thousand people. Best Performance Best IR Performance on the Stock Exchange The rise of Mota-Engil shares was very prominent being the share with the biggest appreciation in 2013 in the Portuguese Stock Exchange with + 175.8%, remaining in line with the appreciation in 2012 (+51.4%). Mota-Engil was acknowledged as the company with the best stock market performance in 2013 at the Investors and Governance Awards, also receiving the best Investor Relations Officer award. At its General Meeting, the Group approved the distribution of a gross dividend of 12.5 cents per share, which was paid in the first half of the year, maintaining a policy of shareholder remuneration that has remained stable over the last several years.
