How to Save/Backup the Database
What is a Backup A Backup is all of your setting and user information. This needs to be done on a weekly or monthly basis either manually, or set up to do automatic backups via the NG software. Without a backup, if your panel goes out, or your PC/Server that has the software loaded crashes, you can easily reinstall the software and import the backup to an early date and not have to reprogram the entire database again.
What is a Backup Continued It is recommend that you save your database in two separate locations. First on the server pc, then on a secondary device like a network drive, or external storage. This is prevention, in case the main server pc crashes, if all the backups are done on that machine, then all of your backups are gone. If it is on another hard drive or flash drive, you still have a second copy.

Make a second copy of this file to another hard drive or external device and keep these files updated constantly if you are always adding user information to the database. In the event of a system failure, this file will be able to be reloaded into the new software on another machine in the even that the pc server crashes, and once uploaded with the database, you will be up and running gin a matter of minutes.

How to Import a Backup to the Database
What is an import An Import would be done in an event that you have a new pc that has the Axtrax Software loaded. This will reload all settings and information back into the SQL Database that was installed on the PC
What is an Import Continued To do an Import is similar on how you would do a backup of the database. First, if this is a new install, check that the Microsoft SQL on the PC you are using is set correctly.

Now you can log into the Axtrax Software and do the import of the database you have saved in the previous steps. 1. click on tools and choose database 2. In the drop down box, choose Import Configuration and Events. 1. This setting will import everything from network settings, to users and groups 2. Browse for the backup file you have saved 3. Select the file you want to use. 4. Click open and confirm all prompts to do the backup. Note: When the backup is complete, you should see all of your information now like Networks, Users, ECT. If you see nothing, please see the above slides about the SQL database and make sure you have the correct settings otherwise, your Import will not work correctly.
