Curriculum Vitae HAMED QAHRI SAREMI Email: qahrish@mcmaster.ca Website: http://myphd.degroote.mcmaster.ca/ads/qahrish PROFILE SUMMARY Over the course of his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Business Administration with specialization in Management Information Systems (MIS) at DeGroote School of Business (AASCB accredited), McMaster University, Hamed earned rare honors under the supervision of Professor Ali Reza Montazemi, including: a published research manuscript at the Journal of Strategic Information Systems (a top-tier MIS journal), a research paper revised and resubmitted to the Journal of Management Information Systems (a top-tier MIS journal), five research papers being finalized for submitting to top-tier MIS journals, two completedresearch conference papers presented at leading MIS conferences (AMCIS 2010 and HICSS 2013), a completed-research conference paper under-review at ICIS 2013, and an accepted tutorial to be presented at AMCIS 2013. Furthermore, Hamed has received 14 awards, scholarships, and research funds valued more than $109,000 in total, is being appointed as a sessional faculty to teach a business process management course to a class of second-year MBA students at DeGroote School of Business, was appointed as a sessional faculty to teach an introductory MIS course to a large class of second-year undergraduate business students (215 students) at DeGroote School of Business, was appointed as the certified SAP instructor by SAP University Alliances Program to teach a very successful official SAP certification workshop to eligible candidates at DeGroote School of Business towards SAP TERP10 certification, developed new teaching programs and computer labs, and earned distinction on his Ph.D. comprehensive exam. Hamed s other researches have been published in 5 other journals and 8 other conferences. Hamed s PhD dissertation is near completion with expected completion by April 2014. Prior to entering the Ph.D. program, Hamed earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in IT Engineering and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Industrial Engineering. He also accumulated over 4 years of industry experience in business process analysis and management and MIS management consulting. Teaching Experience 1) Being appointed as a sessional faculty to teach a graduate course on business process management (BPM) to a class of second-year MBA students at DeGroote School of Business, McMaster University, in Fall 2013 (coming semester). Summary of Course Content: 1) business process analysis and management concepts, 2) IT governance concepts, 3) hands-on exercises with various SAP Solutions, such as SAP solution manager, SAP workflow builder, ARIS business process modeling and simulation, SAP strategic enterprise management, SAP HANA, and ERPSim, 4) BPM case analysis and presentation. 2) Appointed as a sessional faculty to teach an introductory MIS course entitled Information Systems in Business to a large class of second-year undergraduate students at DeGroote School of Business (215 students), McMaster University; Winter/Spring 2013. Feedback from students has been very positive, including many requests and encouragement from them to teach more of their courses. The medians of teaching evaluations by the students were 8 and 9 out of 10. Summary of Course Content: 1) database design, 2) data warehouse, 3) IT project management, 4) business analytics and data mining, 5) New trends in information technology, including social media technology, 6) business process management, 7) decision support systems. 3) Appointed as the Certified SAP Instructor to teach the official SAP workshop towards SAP TERP10 certification (a.k.a. Integration of Business Processes in SAP ERP ) to a class of eligible graduate and undergraduate students at DeGroote School of Business, McMaster University; April/May 2013. The result of the workshop was exceptionally successful with 94% passrate, while the average pass-rate for this certification is about 60% worldwide, according to SAP.
