Cheers, Doug Holman Vice President, Membership & Corporate Relations Open the email builder. Open a previously saved email under Open, insert a pre-made template under Templates, or simply type your message. Be sure to Load Template before clicking close.
Use the email template as-is or use the toolbar to completely change the pictures, colors, and fonts in the template. REMEMBER: Be sure to save as you go! You can either Replace an Existing Message or Save as a New File. Either way, be sure to click Save Message then close. EMAIL DASHBOARD BREAKDOWN MERGE: Insert auto fill information placeholders such as first name or company. This is based on your contacts information. COPY/PASTE TOOLBAR: Once you have copied text from a website or document, use this toolbar to paste it into your email. UNDO/REDO SPELLCHECK INSERT PICTURE: Insert an image into your email body. This can be your logo, a graphic, or a picture. Images can be resized by rightclicking them and selecting Image Properties. EVENT: Insert event placeholders based on the events you ve created in ChamberZoom. TEMPLATE COLORS: Use this tool to change the colors within your email template and your hyperlinks. FONT COLORS: Use this tool to change your font color and to highlight font. Text must be preselected to change the color. HYPERLINKS: Add/remove links to text or images within your email body. The link can be to a website (http://), an email address (mailto:), or a document in your Media Library.
Test your email before sending. You can test send your email to five different email addresses. Be sure to send to your Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, Hotmail, etc. accounts to ensure that the message appears the same in each. Don t forget to read the email on your smart phone, too! Apply filters to your email, then send. Contacts are filtered by User-Defined Data fields. These can be added ( Add New Custom Field ) and changed under Group Setup (the wheel icon) and the tab User-Defined Data. User-Defined Data is assigned to individual contacts. Examples of User-Defined Data fields include: investment level, industry, interests, etc. They are extremely useful in marketing to your target audience.
CONTINUED: Apply filters to your email, then send. Apply your filters in the Filters section. You can also add an Attendance Filter, i.e. only those who attended your event (only applies to events created in ChamberZoom). A Delivery Filter, i.e. only those who read a previous email you sent, can also be applied. Once you have set your desired filters, you can send your message immediately (by clicking Send Message ), or queue up your message to be delivered at a later date/time. A Send Confirmation will then pop up. Please verify the message details then click Send This Message. VOILA! Your message has been sent.
Track your email statistics. Under Broadcasts, select the message you wish to track. You can see who read your email under Read Times & Browsers. You can also see how many times they read the email. You can see who clicked any links in your email under Clicks by URL. Be sure to click on the blue bar to reveal the contacts.
