EDU, Inc. COMMON BLACK COLLEGE APPLICATION August 23, 2011 Ashley Bennett Director of Admissions Wiley College 711 Wiley Avenue Marshall, TX 75670 Dear Ms. Bennett, Thank you for giving EDU, Inc. the opportunity to help you meet your enrollment objectives. EDU, Inc. is rapidly becoming one of the most recognized educational marketing services in the country. To date, over 70,000 students have used the EDU, Inc. Application. Many of these students have successfully matriculated at Wiley College. As we continuously strive to increase our level of service, it should be noted that during the 2011-2012 recruitment season the following will occur: RECRUITMENT Online social networking technologies including the EDU, Inc. Blog, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, MySpace, Flickr, text messaging, Podcast, and Virtual Tours are be used to recruit students. Search Engine Optimization tools are being used to drive traffic to the EDU, Inc. Online Application. The number of NBA teams who will host an EDU, Inc. Getting African-American / Latino Males Educated (G.A.M.E.) event is being increased to seventeen. This Initiative is designed to increase the college enrollment rates among black and Latino males. Recruitment activities are being held in over 7,000 high schools and community colleges nationwide including having EDU, Inc. Recruiters conduct high school visits and participate in college fairs. The Online EDU, Inc. Black College Source Magazine is being distributed to more than 100,000 parents and students in our database. Guidance Counselor packets featuring Member Institutions were sent to over 5,000 high schools and community colleges nationwide. EDU, Inc. partnerships with Kaplan K12 Learning Services, one of the largest test preparation companies in the country, allow us to increase our access to students from entire school districts. EDU, Inc. contracts with school districts and high schools throughout the country to increase the use of the EDU, Inc. Application. ADMISSIONS Our Online Database allows all Member Institutions to download the EDU, Inc. Application of a student minutes after it has been submitted. Student transcripts and test scores are transmitted to the Member Institutions online via the EDU, Inc. Database. Student files are captured online reducing the possibility of loss. The EDU, Inc. web-based Counselorlogin allows all of your staff members complete access to the system anywhere they can log on to the internet. This creates the opportunity for your Recruiters to view and process student applications while traveling. The EDU, Inc. Database reduces the need for a paper trail and streamlines the admissions process. The EDU, Inc. Database allows your Admissions Office to respond to students in days rather than months. MARKETING EDU, Inc. commercials are airing on cable stations in various markets. EDU, Inc. Member Institutions will have the opportunity to be featured in these commercials. EDU, Inc. Guidance / College Counselor packets featuring all Member Institutions were sent to over 5,000 high schools. Posters included in this packet listing all Member Institutions are displayed in high schools nationally. EDU, Inc. is featured in Black Enterprise annually. All Member Institutions are included in the BE advertisement. All Member Institutions are featured during the G.A.M.E. Initiative held before the games of the NBA teams. It should be noted that, yearly, over 37% of the students who complete an EDU, Inc. Application have scored a 1000 or better on the SAT. Equally as important, 1 out of every 3 students who have completed our application has had a 3.0 grade point average or better. In order for Wiley College to continue as an EDU, Inc. Member Institution, you will be asked to waive your application fee for all EDU, Inc. Applications submitted to your college / university. You will also be asked to sign a one, two, or three year Service Agreement: 1 Year Agreement ($3,900) 2 Year Agreement ($6,900) 3 Year Agreement ($9,900) Because many schools have had questions concerning how the waiving of application fees can impact their Admissions / Recruitment budget, we conducted a study to determine if our Member Institutions incurred any decline of revenue. The study revealed that even for our most popular Member Institutions, if only one student that uses the EDU, Inc. Application pays the cost of tuition, the school recovers the cost of any decline in revenue by participating in our program. If you are interested in continuing as an EDU, Inc. Member Institution, please complete the Registration Form and fax it to our office at (404) 745-0124. Please contact me at (770) 716-0616, if you have any questions. Sincerely, Robert Mason EDU, Inc.
