Programmes Offered The Bharti School of Telecommunication Technology and Management is a centre of excellence for education and research relating to all facets of telecommunication technology and is jointly conducted by Department of Electrical Engineering and Department of Computer Science and Engineering. It offers the following programmes: M.Tech: The M.Tech programme offered is an appropriate blend of theoretical and practical learning which aspires to shape the students intellect well suited for industry. MS(R): The MS(R) programme offered is more dedicated towards research. The students take appropriate theoretical and lab oriented courses in their curriculum necessary for their ongoing research. Core Competency The curriculum structure provides the students a first-hand experience in variety of areas related to telecommunication domain. The students develop a solid conceptual foundation through various courses in their academic curriculum. Through an extensive practical training, the students get to learn a plethora of programming languages, software and various development tools. It is this practical training that makes them apt for the industry jobs and stand out in the highly competitive academic and industrial environment. The major areas of specialization include: Networking Software development Telecommunication Wireless Communication Embedded Systems Image Processing Signal Processing
Courses Offered The course curriculum is designed in such a way that the students are provided with a balanced blend of both theoretical knowledge and practical exposure. It being an M.Tech interdisciplinary program, the course structure has vital proportions from Department of Electrical Engineering and Department of Computer Science Engineering with a flavor of management from Department of Management Studies IIT Delhi. The vision behind such a course structure is to enable the students excel in the fields of telecom technology along with software development, embedded systems, networking and wireless communication. Following are the courses and labs which are offered to the students pursuing the programme: Courses : Laboratories : Telecom Software Lab Computer Networks Telecommunication Systems Access Networks Telecommunication Technology Mobile Computing Computer Architecture Data Structures and Algorithms Operating Systems Image Processing Wireless Communication Signal Theory Digital Communication Multimedia System Internet Technology Protocol Engineering Network Security Telecom Switching Transmission Information Theory Telecom System Planning, Analysis and Design Coding Theory Soft Computing Multi-rate Signal Processing Computer Vision Electronic system development using various programming languages and software development tools such as C, MATLAB, VHDL, Python, Shell scripting, CVS, Tcl/Tk, Network Programming etc. Telecom Networks Lab Development, testing and simulation tools for Telecom Networks such as LabView, RTOS, NI-CRIO, Commsim, Wireshark, ISDN simulator, NS2. Wireless Lab Deals with the practical experiments in wireless communication and minor project on application development based on wireless communication. It gives an opportunity to know more about prospective employers-the people, the work culture, and the role and career advancement paths. It also gives the corporate a chance to create a first-hand impression about their company and attract appropriate candidates for their requirements. Recruitment Process Interested companies request HoD, T&P for a new account on the website. With their assigned username/passwords, companies log in on the TnP website to create the Job Notification Form (JNF) for each profile by a deadline and fill in all details after which students shall view relevant parts of the information and eligible students may apply. Companies are also assigned space on the server on which they can upload any presentations, videos or other information they want students to see. After the application deadline for students, the resumes are visible to the company. The company submits list of shortlisted candidates on the website itself before a deadline. After the completion of selection procedure, company is required to announce the final list of the students that day itself. If a student is selected, a job is registered against him and he would not be allowed to appear for further interviews.
