I. PURPOSE To add Citrix XenApp Client Setup for home PC/Office using the 32bit Windows client. II. POLICY: Network Request form must be sent from MIS staff to HCN Hardware Support requesting Citrix XenApp Client Setup for home PC/office. III. PROCEDURE: 1. Go to http://www.hcnetwork.org/ 2. Click on Software/Downloads on the upper right-hand corner. 3. Click on the Citrix XenApp Client Version 11.0.150 link on the top left portion of the page. 4. Download Citrix XenApp Client version 11.0.150 [ica32pkg version 11.0.1.150.msi]
5. Double click on the installation file for the Citrix client. You will be asked to select your preferred language. Click ok. 6. You are now greeted by the XenApp Plugin for Hosted Apps Installation wizard window. Click Next to continue. 7. Accept the Licensing agreement, and click Next.
8. In this screen you select the client options that you will be using; these are standard HCN configuration settings that you install. The Citrix XenApp Web Plugin cannot be disabled. Be sure to disabled the Citrix XenApp Plugin option and enable the Program Neighborhood option [Entire feature will be installed on local had drive] This is done by clicking on the Hard drive icons. Click next. 9. Select the program folder. Keep the default location of Citrix\ Click Next to continue.
10. Keep the use machine name as client name checked, click next to continue. 11. Select no to Use Local name and password, click next to continue.
12. Keep both boxes checked, click next to continue. 13. You will see the ready to install window, click next to continue.
14. You will see the updating system window. 15. The installation completion window will appear, click finish.
[ NOTE: A reboot may or may not be required. Your client device will prompt you. ] 16. Once installed you will find that a new group has been added to the programs menu called Citrix with an icon called Program Neighborhood Click on that icon to open the Program Neighborhood.
17. You are greeted by the Citrix Program Neighborhood You will see the Custom ICA Connection icon. Double click it. Then double click on Add ICA Connection. 18. Here you will specify Wire Area Connection if you are remote to HCN s XenApp server cluster, click next
20. Next select the Published Application radio button. 21. Next, click on Server Location
22. Uncheck Use Default.
23. Click on the Add button 24. Dialog box should appear as below; enter the [Internal or external IP] address provided to you by HCN Network Operations and click OK: 25. If you are connecting from a remote location, i.e. Hotel, Home office, Airport. Select the firewall button.
26. Place a check on the Use alternate address for firewall connection and click OK. [NOTE: you do not need the firewall option when connecting from the LAN/WAN]
27. Next click on the Published Application radio button. Then click on the drop menu and select your center s published application. Click next 28. Select view in a remote desktop window option. Click next. 29. Leave Use default encryption and enable session reliability checked. Click next to continue.
30. Leave User name and Domain as default, click next. 31. Set Window color to 16bit and Window size to 100% of screen size. Click next.
32. The Citrix XenApp Client installation wizard will ask you to complete the installation. Click finish. 33. Once custom connection has been created. Right click on the connection, properties, click on the options tab.
34. Ensure that the following options are selected for the connection and click OK: 35. Next, you will see the Custom Connection for your center. Double click on the connection 36. Next, you will see a connection in progress indicator:
37. Next, you will be presented HCN s Acceptable Use Policy, click OK to accept the terms of use: \
38. Once you click OK. You will be presented the option to logon using your HCN s network credentials:
39. Once you enter your HCN Network ID and password, you will be placed on your Virtual Desktop: 40.
