World MMA Championship is carried out in accordance with the rules and requirements of World MMA Association. Individual-team competitions are held in 6 weight categories with individual-team classification among the participating countries. I. GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: - Determination of the strongest sportsmen and teams in the world; - Development and promotion in the world of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA); - Improvement of judges and coaches qualification and sportsmen s level of training; - Involvement of different groups of people in active lifestyle; - Expansion of cooperation in the sphere of martial arts among the countries. II. COMPETITION ORGANIZERS - World MMA Association (WMMAA). - Public Organization Russian MMA Union Preparation for the championship is carried out by Organizing Committee. The Judges committee is directly responsible for the competitions.
The head of the Judges Committee of the World MMA Championship is Marco Broerson (Netherlands). The deputy head judge of the World MMA Championship is Radmir Gabdullin (Russia). IV. REQUIREMENTS TO PARTICIPANTS AND CONDITIONS FOR THEIR ADMISSION Sportsmen aged 18 years before the start of the competitions and older, with the level of training (not less than 2 years) in any Contact, Power or Mixed Martial Arts, who had been training for at least 12 months, registered by the Team Leader and medically examined not earlier than 7 days before the competitions may compete. Only athletes with not more than 3 professional fights according to SHERDOG are allowed to participate. Admission will be controlled by the Credentials Committee of the Championship. Participation applications should be submitted before September 23 rd, 2013. Participating team consists of 7 people: - Sportsmen - 6 people, one sportsman per weight category - Coach / Team Leader - 1 person The following documents shall be provided to the Championship Credentials Committee: Credentials Committee has the authority to review the applications and either approve or disapprove the admission. -- Application in a standard form from the National Federation with obligatory presence of duly sealed signatures of the Head of Federation, Coach and Doctor; - Identification documents; - A completed competitor s card with acknowledgement (Annex No. 1,2,3) - Certificates on HIV and Hepatitis B and C (originals). - Health insurance policy and insurance contract (original) for this competition; - National anthem on the CD or a USB-drive, national flag. In order to have equal starting opportunities for sportsmen the Panel of Judges is entitled to demand the participants to undergo doping control procedures during or after the competitions. Where a participant or team representative refuses to undergo doping control procedures the participating team is not allowed to compete and is disqualified.
V. COMPETITION FORM AND EQUIPMENT OF SPORTSMEN According to the Rules of the competition, sportsmen must wear long or short fight shorts and use protective equipment: white open finger lace-up gloves of at least 5 ounces (blue or red tape or plaster shall be wound around the wrist); protective mouth piece for teeth; bandage to protect the groin; shin guards. Head gear at Mixed Martial Arts MMA Imperia may be used in at will. Sportsmen at the age of 18 to 21 years old must use a protective helmet. In this case, his opponent must also wear a protective helmet. Sportsmen compete without shoes. All equipment for the sportsmen taking part in the World Championship shall be certified by WMMAA. Equipment is certified when it has the «MMA IMPERIA PRO» trademark. VI. COMPETITION PROGRAM World Championship is held on October 24-25, 2013, at St. Petersburg, 1, Prospect Piatiletok, Ice Palace October 23, 2013 Before 16:00 - participant s arrival, 17:00-18:00 - Credentials Committee 18:00-19:00 - weigh-ins, drawing procedure; 19:00- Judges seminar for judges working at the Championship; Meeting of team representatives with judges; October 24, 2013 From 10:00 preliminary, semifinal fights; October 25, 2013 From 18.00 - final fights;
October 26, 2013 - Departure of participants. VII. SCHEDULE OF FIGHTS Preliminary duels: if more than 16 sportsmen are registered in the weight category, all fights to 1/8 Finals consist of 1 round of 3 minutes. If the fight ends in a draw, the victory goes to the sportsman who has received the last effective score. From 1/8 finals duels are held: 2 rounds of 3 minutes each (60 seconds rest between rounds with chairs). In exceptional cases an additional extra round may be added if the first two rounds ended in a draw. Finals consist of 2 rounds of 5 minutes each, 60 seconds rest with chairs. In exceptional cases an additional extra round may be added if the first two rounds ended in a draw. The winner is determined in accordance with the Rules of Competition approved by WMMAA. VIII. SUMMING UP Individual-team competitions, they are held in accordance with the Official Rules of Mixed Martial Arts Competitions 2013 approved by WMMAA, including revisions, additions and clarifications of certain clauses thereto. Competitions are held according to the Olympic system (with 2 Third places), in six weight categories: under 65, under 70, under 77, under 84, under 93, 93 +. Team placing is determined by the maximum amount of points in individual classification of team members: for 1st place 10 points; for 2nd place 8 points; for 3rd place 6 points; for 4th place 5 points; for 5th place 4 points; for 6th place 3 points;
for 7th place 2 points; for 8th place 1 point. 5th place is taken by the participant, who lost to the champion in the quarterfinals, 6th place is taken by the participant, who lost to silver medalist in the quarterfinals, 7th place is taken by the participant, who lost to bronze medalist and 8th place is taken by the participant, who lost to the sportsman who had taken the 4th place. IX. AWARDING Championship winners, who had taken first places are awarded with special Champion s Belts. Second and third places in individual competitions, are awarded with medals, certificates and valuable prizes; coaches of champions are awarded with medals and certificates. Teams taking first, second and third places are awarded with cups and certificates. X. FINANCING TERMS The following financial responsibilities are assigned to the host country: - to provide accommodation to WMMAA Executives and honorable guests; - to provide travel, accommodation, meals, and pay out the work of international judges; - to provide accommodation to all contestants; - to ensure payment of the judges; - to provide medical care; - to ensure law Enforcement and security at the venue; - to set up the advertising campaign; - to rent venue; - to provide the ring and sports equipment; - to provide premium awarding products, gifts and prizes to winners; - to organize photo and video shooting, followed by the provision of materials to WMMAA. Participating teams (athletes, coaches) shall bear expenses for preparation of entry documents (visas), meals and travel to the host country and back.
IX. APPLICATION FOR PARTICIPATION IN COMPETITIONS Application for participation in competitions shall be executed in accordance with the Rules of Competitions in two copies and submitted not later than September 23 rd, 2013.
