Continue >> Step 5 Some areas offer 911 while other areas do not. If it says that your address could not be verified, then you don t have 911 in that area available via the VoIP service. Suggestion - We suggest that you have the customer keep a PSTN line for the alarm and 911 services. If the customer calls their phone company then they can remove all services and bring the monthly bill for the line to around $20 per month or less. Step 6 - Next, you ll be given a choice of area codes to choose from. In this case the customer is in New Jersey and regardless of where they live, they could choose a number in any of the available area codes. Once an area code is selected, a drop down box will appear with all available exchanges within the desired area code. Choose one. The number will be assigned later. WARNING! WE ARE UNABLE TO VERIFY THE ADDRESS YOU HAVE ENTERED This will almost certainly make it difficult for your address to be registered with emergency services. Please hit the back button on your browser, double check your input, and resubmit the form. If you are certain that the information you have entered is correct, you may continue. I UNDERSTAND AND WANT TO PROCEED If 911 services are available, the customer will need to fill out some additional information regarding their location and address. E911 is available in this location Good News! "911" Service is available for your phone number. We are happy to be one of the few Internet Telephone Providers who can offer "911" service to our customers. But remember, if you lose your internet connection for any reason, at anytime, you also lose your connection to "911". "911" will not work, for example, if you lose electrical power, or if your internet provider has a problem providing you with a broadband internet connection. Please read all about "911" in our terms and conditions section. In the section below you will assign an address to your phone number. The address you assign will be the address the police, fire, or other other emergency services will respond to if you call "911". If you travel with your phone or adapter, and you dial "911", the address you registered and NOT the address you traveled to, will be the address that appears on "911". The address you assign to your phone or adapater, no matter where you are, is the address "911" operators will see when you dial "911". Take the wire that goes from the computer to the cable modem and unplug it from the modem. Take the end you just unplugged and plug it into one of the router ports on the V3. At the bottom of the page, hit SAVE CHANGES and then WRITE SETTINGS TO FLASH AND REBOOT. Step 6 Click on the tab marked VOICE OVER IP. Some customers may prefer to not have a POTS line at all. In this case you should check off VoIP ONLY MODE so that all calls go out directly over the Vontronix service. The customer should be made well aware if they do or don t have 911 services available in their area. If a POTS line is installed, you ll also want to check off ALLOW PSTN CALLS. This let a single phone plugged into the V3 to receive calls from both the VoIP line and the PSTN line. If you check off either of these boxes you ll need to scroll down to SAVE CHANGES and the WRITE SETTINGS TO FLASH AND REBOOT. DO NOT CLICK DOWNLOAD CONFIGURATION NOW.
