Section 14: Middle School and Upper School Uniform Guidelines The use of uniforms has several significant benefits. Wearing uniforms allows students to look like students, promote a mindset of school being a special place with special expectations, and develop school pride. In addition, uniforms avoid the need for a dress code, eliminate "dress competition," and present financial savings. Dress or casual uniforms are worn every school day unless otherwise designated for special events. Student clothing should be appropriate for the academic environment; neat, clean, and polished in overall appearance. On Bear Creek free dress days, students are expected to dress appropriately and modestly. Clothing must be clean and pants should be free of rips and tears. Skirt and dress hems should not be higher than knee length.
