1. Introduction This document provides details on the Avaya WLAN 9100 Access Point Operating System (AOS) software release 8.1.3. AOS Rel 8.1.3 is suitable for the following Access Points WAP9144 Indoor, two radio 4x4 802.11ac Wave 2 Access Point WAP9133 - Indoor, two radio 3x3 802.11ac Access Point WAP9132 Indoor, two radio 2x2 802.11ac Access Point WAE9132 - Indoor, two radio 2x2 802.11ac Access Point with External Antennas WAP9172 - Indoor, four radio 2x2 802.11ac Access Point WAP9173 - Indoor, four radio 3x3 802.11ac Access Point WAO9122 Outdoor, two radio 2x3 802.11n Access Point WAO9132 - Outdoor, two radio 2x3 802.11ac Access Point WAP9122 - Indoor, two radio 2x2 802.11n License Upgradable 802.11ac Access Point WAP9123 - Indoor, two radio 3x3 802.11n License Upgradable 802.11ac Access Point Note: WAP9112 and WAP9114 Access Point requires the AOS-Lite Software Images. This release notes document does not cover the AOS-Lite Software Release Notes. 1.1 New in AOS Rel 8.1.3 The following are new features / enhancements introduced in AP Operating System Rel 8.1.3. Support for WAP9144 802.11ac Wave 2 Features Common Code for all AOS Access Points as described above. IPv6 Support in CLI o AOS Access Points support IPv6 features in Dual Stack (IPv4 / IPv6) mode. o IPv6 Features supported are IP addressing, DNS, Filters, Application Control, Syslog, SNMP management, SSH, Telnet, FTP, Network Map, XRP, DHCP client, Cluster Mode, Snoop Ipv6 stations, APCON. o IPv6 can only be configured via CLI in this release. For production networks Config templates can be used from WOS for bulk configuration. Multicast Isolation feature to restrict distribution of multicast traffic like Bonjour by AP, by Neighbor APs, by User Group or by fixed-list of MAC addresses o Feature can only be configured using CLI or Configuration Templates from WOS. o The commands added to the CLI are: config interface iap multicast isolate-by {none { access-point ap-neighbors user-group fixed-list }@ } multicast fixed-addr { reset {add del} <addr> [ group [<grp>] ] } exit exit Where: Avaya Inc - External Distribution 2

isolate-by access-point only shares multicasts among stations connected to the same AP isolate-by ap-neighbors shares multicasts among stations connected to the same AP and the APs neighbors (those APs within range of each other that can hear each other s beacons) isolate-by user-groups only shares multicasts among stations connected to the same user-group isolate-by fixed-list only shares multicasts originating from a fixed list of MAC addresses These options can be used alone, or in any combination. For example: access-point & user-group when configured would only share multicasts between stations on the same AP and user-group. This can be used to provide access to certain services to one group of users (i.e. teachers) in a specific location without making them available to another group (i.e. students). The multicast fixed address list can be created by adding or deleting MAC addresses from the list, optionally associating a user-group to each MAC address. This list can be unique to each AP, and provides a means to allow wired devices to advertise their services on specified APs. WDS Lock feature to prevent WOS from overwriting WDS settings which could potentially break access to the WDS client AP. 2. Software Image File Details The following section provides the software image file details for release 8.1.3. AOS 8.1.3 is the GA software for WAP9144 and it is recommended that all WAP9144 APs should be upgraded to AOS 8.1.3 or above for improved reliability and performance. Access Points delivered from the factory may not be running GA software version. It is recommended to upgrade all the Access Points to the current software version when they are deployed. WLAN 9100 APs running 7.0.x software are required to be upgraded to AOS Rel 7.0.7 before upgrading to Rel 7.2.x or later software versions. Rev 3 of WAP9132, WAP9133, WAP9122 and WAP9123 APs are required to be upgraded to AOS 7.5.x or later and these APs cannot be downgraded to AOS 7.2.x or older code stream. 3. Resolved Issues Resolved Issues for WLAN 9100 AOS Access Points Table 2: WLAN 9100 Resolved Issues for AOS 8.1.3 27231 - Intermittent client connectivity issues after upgrading to 8.1.2 in WOS, stations unable to get DHCP addresses 27206 - AP Unassociated stations statistics are note being updated in the API responses. 27181 - Inactive stations remain in location-table three times the inactivity timer limit 27159 - With country-code set to Germany, channels 36 to 48 are not available 27079 - On WAP9144, clients were not able to associate when SSID is configured with WEP. 26698 - Occasionally MacBook Pro devices associated at about 30 feet or beyond and behind walls achieves lower than expected throughput. 26662 - Excessive station roaming sometimes causes the WAP9144 AP to reboot 26586 - WAP9144 intermittently reboots with timeshare was enabled 26725 - Certain Android devices associated to WAP9144 may have connectivity issues with encrypted SSIDs 26624 - WAP9144 intermittently locks up causing the radios to stop beaconing and drop all client traffic. 26695 - WMI - Filter Management pages are not displayed correctly 26683 - WMI- When Filter List is enabled, the icon is still red 26615 - WMI - Using Safari on a wired MacBook, cannot edit a filter list 26609 - WMI - Unable to add AP to cluster using IP address from the WMI 26608 - WMI - On some screens Window automatically scrolls to the bottom after entering values 26603 - WMI - When configuring tunnel secret for a VLAN it overwrites the tunnel server IP address 26602 - Intermittent authentication issues observed when using Active Directory authentication method. 26600 - WMI - Connection Tracking Page does display information. Information available via CLI. 26595 - Unable to pull config or diag logs after configuring Admin RADIUS server 26553 - WAP9144 Clients associated to Radio 2 intermittently unable to pass traffic. 26479 - WMI - After making changes to IAP settings, the save icon does not appear 26477 - WMI - Unable to load Filter Management - Custom App List pages 26428 - WMI - User is unable to enable a filter list. 26320 - WMI - License check error messages not displayed correctly. Avaya Inc - External Distribution 4

Resolved Issues for WLAN 9100 AOS Access Points 26256 - Over long test duration, some stations connected to 2.4 GHz Radio fail to renew DHCP Lease and loose IP connectivity. 25719 - Intermittently some Intel 802.11n clients have trouble getting an IP address 25591 - When 802.11k is enabled on WAP9144, the AP channel report IE is missing from the beacon 19417 - Intermittently stations remain associated to WAP9144 but are unable to pass traffi Avaya Inc - External Distribution 5

4. Known Issues Table 3: Known Limitations for WLAN 9100 AOS Rel 7.5.4 Known Limitations for WLAN 9100 AOS Access Points 27596 - Gaming systems are not detected properly for use in group rules 26677 WLAN 9132/9133 when in cluster mode, configuration is not being pushed to member AP(s) 27374 WMI SSID screen can hand when the PSK is configured with \ 27108 AP fails to authenticate clients via Radius when passwords have two backslashes 27265 For Captive Portal Clients authenticated via RADIUS, the RADIUS session timeout attribute is not honored when a client roams to a different AP before the session timeout happens. 27098 - Optimized broadcast rates not sending broadcast / multicast at highest connected rate 26788 Device classification grouping by device Id is properly classifying different devices by failing in assigning the correct VLAN 26635 Spectralink Phone 8440 does not complete Layer 3 roaming as expected when using WPA2-PSK. Issue not observed when using WPA2-Enterprise. 25605 When logged into WMI using Google Chrome, sort Rogues APs by Last Active result in a reverse order. 25562 With WMM Admission Control for Voice and Video enabled, voice quality issues may be observed using Avaya Communicator application on certain smartphones. Recommendation is to disable ACM Voice and Video when using Avaya Communicator application over ios and Android devices. 24999 When Layer3 roaming is enabled, changes to OKC settings are not being saved automatically. The unit needs to be rebooted for the changes to take effect 24241 Rebooting an AP sometimes takes a long time to complete the boot-up. 23467 - Intermittently, some Wireless Clients fail to complete the 4-way EAP handshake with OKC enabled as part of the re-association process. A new CLI configuration option is introduced to enable/disable OKC if the environment has clients that experience these issues. 23440 - In WMI, the Filter page may take long time to display 23270 Some of the hyperlinks in application control page do not function 23195 - Firmware Upgrade can sometimes fail using TFTP. As a workaround use FTP or http-get 23058 - Radius Admin Shared Secret does not support special characters :!$&() \'"`;<>?. on WLAN 9100 Access Points 23012 - Internal Splash Page configuration for Captive Portal (WPR) may be lost in some cases when upgrading from previous AOS versions to 7.5.x or above. WOS Profile Sync may be required after the upgrade to resolve this issue. 22978 WMI Active Directory Secret shows failure when should be success 22756 - Layer 3 roaming with internal DHCP with NAT is not recommended in this release. Avaya Inc - External Distribution 6

Known Limitations for WLAN 9100 AOS Access Points 22003 - Radius Admin Authentication only supports PAP, CHAP and MS-CHAPv1. 21651 - Some of the newer Samsung and Motorola phones are not classified as Phone under the device types 21321 - Attempting to upgrade AOS on multiple APs using cluster mode results in some APs not being upgraded. Workaround is to upgrade APs individually or use WOS. 21216 - RADIUS Accounting packets have incorrect Das Event Timestamp. The timestamp is also sent when it is configured to not include it. 19824 User Group station limit is not enforced correctly. 19362 WPR using a non-standard HTTPS/SSL ports for WPR redirect-url does not work. Use port 443 for HTTPS/SSL support 16435 - Wireless Packet Capture is not supported on the 802.11ac WLAN 9100 Access Point models. Only WAO9122 supports remote wireless packet capture with the current release. 14826 WMI Filters cannot be added to filters list if name has a special character. In WMI for an AP in cluster mode (Configuration > IAPs > IAP Settings), IAP channels cannot be changed at this time. The dropdown menu shows only the channel selected. WMI Security page is not properly aligned when using Internet explorer browser. Use Chrome, Safari and Firefox as a work around since they don t exhibit this issue. Doing a bulk configuration of more than 30 rogues does not work. Workaround is to limit bulk rogue configuration to less than 30. Avaya Inc - External Distribution 7
