4 1. PRODUCT OVERVIEW 1.1 Introduction This document describes the system specification of the 4x4 MIMO Wi-Fi n 5G Video Bridge (HIGH PERFORMANCE WIRELESS ADAPTER hereafter). The HIGH PERFORMANCE WIRELESS ADAPTER enables applications such as high-definition video content delivery to wireless High performance wireless adapters for Set-top Boxes (STB), HDTVs with integrated video decoders, residential gateways (cable, fiber, xdsl), media servers and Home Network Storage (NAS) appliances with integrated Access Points (APs) and supports the following functions: Compliant with IEEE n standard Supports 5GHz frequency band 2 Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000 Base-T ports with auto sensing. 1.2 Application The HIGH PERFORMANCE WIRELESS ADAPTER performs as 4x4 MIMO WiFi High performance wireless adapter solution with higher and wider transmitting speed and coverage. 1.3 Product Configurations The HIGH PERFORMANCE WIRELESS ADAPTER provides the following configurations: Model Name Frequency Ethernet Ports Wi-Fi Antenna Type HIGH PERFORMANCE WIRELESS 5GHz 2x 10/100/1000 Base-T ports a/n Omni antenna Table 1-1: Product Configurations 1.4 Features and Benefits The HIGH PERFORMANCE WIRELESS ADAPTER Wi-Fi n High performance wireless adapter supports 5GHz frequency band with a good variety of comprehensive features: IEEE n, e, 802.3, 802.3u, 802.1d compliant Security Supports: WPA/WPA2 AES 4

FUNCTIONS AND FEATURES 2.1 Hardware Specification Ethernet RJ-45 Ports The HIGH PERFORMANCE WIRELESS ADAPTER has two 10/100/1000 BASE-T RJ-45 ports. 6 2.1.4 LED Indicators The HIGH PERFORMANCE WIRELESS ADAPTER has 5 LEDs. 1 triple color LED (red, green, amber) for Power & Status Indications 1 triple color LED (red, green, amber) for Wi-Fi Quality. 1 triple color LED (red, green, amber) for WPS/Wi-Fi On/Off. 2 green color LEDs (one on each RJ45 connector) for Ethernet activity. 1 port unit only have monochrome LED. Power and Status Indication LED (3-color LED, Red/Green/Orange): LED Status Solid Green Blinking Amber Blank Description Power is on and the device is working. Firmware update in process. 8 WPS/Wi-Fi On/Off LED (3-color LED, Red/Green/Orange) LED Status Extinguished Green Blinking Green Blinking Amber Steady Red Steady Green Description WLAN is disabled WLAN is enabled When data is sent or received WPS is being configured (press wps button over 8 seconds will start wps) WPS process failed. Only red for 10 seconds then turn to green blinking if there is traffic WPS process success. Only green steady for 10 seconds then turn to green blinking if there is traffic Table 2-6: Wi-Fi On/Off LED Definition Unit Buttons HIGH PERFORMANCE WIRELESS ADAPTER has two buttons and one switch Reset/ Factory Default Button A single push button is used for Reset and Factory default functions on the bottom of the chassis. It is snapped into the chassis to prevent accident touch. The detailed functions are in the following table. INSTALLATION AND CONFIGURATION 3.1 Initial Configuration Accessing the Web Management Interface The HIGH PERFORMANCE WIRELESS ADAPTER has a default IP address of and subnet mask of for local management. You must first check if your PC s IP address is set on the same subnet as the device (that is, the PC s IP address starts x) In the web browser s access bar, type the default URL: The web browser displays the login page: Figure 3-1: Login Page Language - Selects English, 繁 體 中 文 or Español as the web interface language. Logging In - Type the default Username 1234 and Password 1234 then click Login button. The Status page displays. 10
11 3.1.2 Status Page Figure 3-2: Status Page The following area are displayed on the Statistics page Firmware Version - Describes the firmware detail information include Software Version,SDK Version,Kernel Version,Uptime,Build Date,Load Average and Serial Number. System - Describes the System detail information include System Mode,DNS and Default Gateway. Device Interface - Describes the Device Interface detail information include IP Address,MAC Address,Netmask,Status,TX Packets,RX Packets and IPv6 Address. wifi0 - Describes the wifi0 detail information include Mode,SSID,Link Quality,Access Point,Channel,Client,Signal level and Noise level. 11

13 3.1.4 System Log Page Figure 3-4: System Log Page The following Syetem Log are displayed on the System Log page. Log File Operation Refresh botton Refresh System Log information. Download botton The System Log file downloads to your desktop. Clean botton Clean System Log information. Log Settings Select the Level type and log file size. If changed. Click Set button become effective. The following area are display System Log information. 13
14 3.1.5 System Page Figure 3-5: System Page The following areas are displayed on the Admin page. Language Settings Selects English, 繁 體 中 文 or Español as the web interface language. The page will automatically refresh when language be changed. Password Settings Current Password You need to first enter your current administrator password to be able to configure a new one. New Password Enter a new administrator password. (Range: 3~12 characters) Confirm Password Enter the new password again for verification. (Range: 3~12 characters). If you modify password then click APPLY on this page,it will automatically redirect to login page. You can use new password to login the status display page. 14
15 3.1.6 Configuration Page Figure 3-6: System Page Config Management Restore to Fatory Default Resets the unit to its factory default settings. When you select Restore Factory Default Configuration and click Apply. A confirmation popup window displays. Click OK to continue. Backup Settings Saves the current configuration settings to a file. Restore Settings Restores a saved configuration file to the unit. You can use Browse file button to locate the file on the configuration page. Then click APPLY. When all settings applied the unit reboots. 15
16 3.1.7 Firmware Page Figure 3-7: Firmware Page Firmware Upgrade Software Version Display the firmware version. Build Date Display firmware version build date. Clear Configuration - Check this box to Enable Clear Configuration to restore factory defaults. Firmware image to upload - Uploads a Firmware file from Firmware page to the HIGH PERFORMANCE WIRELESS ADAPTER using HTTP. Use the Browse file button to locate the Firmware file locally on the firmware page. Click Apply to proceed. 16

Device Interface Static IP Assignment Click on this checkbox to enable the Static IP Assignment. Selecting Static IP Assignment to enable entered static IP settings as assigned by the internet service provider. IP Address Displays the IP address assigned by the internet service provider. Subnet Mask - Displays the Subnet Mask assigned by the internet service provider. Default Gateway- Displays the Default Gateway assigned by the internet service provider. IPv6 Select Disable or Enable radio button to disable or enable IPv6. IPv4-mapped IPv6 address Displays the IPv4-mapped IPv6 Address. DNS Settings DNS Resolve Select option Automatic or Customized DNS Resolve. Primary DNS Displays the Primary DNS Address. Secondary DNS Displays the Secondary DNS Address. 18
19 Local Interface IP Address Displays the Local management IP Address. Subnet Mask Displays the Local management Subnet Mask Wireless Page (AP Mode) Figure 3-10: Wireless Page(AP Mode) Authentication Displays the wifi0 Authentication. wifi1~wifi4 disable by default. Click Enable button then unit will reboot and become effective. Click wifi0 Edit Button and enter Wireless settings page. The following areas are displayed on the Wireless Page. HIGH PERFORMANCE WIRELESS ADAPTER provides multiple wireless SSIDs. wifi0 is enabled by default. SSID Dispalys the wifi0 SSID. Figure : Wireless Page (AP Mode) The following areas are displayed on the Wireless settings Page. Configuration Operation Mode Displays the unit Operation Mode. SSID Displays the Wireless SSID. Basic Settings Hide SSID - Check this box to enable Hide SSID. But a wireless station that manually set the SSID still can associate to Device. Band Width Select channel bandwidths 20 or 40MHz. Country Code Select Supported Country Code. SCS - Click this checkbox to enable SCS. Channel Number Select Supported Channel Number. Advanced Settings 19
20 Figure : Wireless Page(AP Mode) Beamforming - Click this checkbox to enable Beamforming. TX Rate - TxRate is expressed as the current BPS (Bits Per Second) being transmitted. Beacon Interval - The Beacon Interval value indicates the frequency interval of the beacon. DTIM period Displays the DTIM period. Short GI Click this checkbox to enable Short GI. Security Authentication - Select the Wireless Authentication. 22 Select WPS Method PBC or PIN then click WPS Start Button to perform WPS process. The WPS client shall be able to associate to the Device correctly. Access Control Enable - Click this checkbox to enable Access Control. Default Policy - Select to Acceot or Denry. MAC Address - Enter MAC Address then click Add Black List or Add White List Button.
