Enterprise-class fleet management software Cadec s PowerVue is the most modern and flexible SaaS-based fleet management solution, ensuring safety and compliance while improving customer service and reducing costs. Now in its second generation, PowerVue provides true real-time data access for delivery operations. The software is architected to be easy to integrate with best-in-class enterprise applications such as routing, dispatch, proof of delivery and performance management systems. Combined with Cadec s rugged on-board computer (OBC) designed to be the hub of the intelligent fleet, PowerVue acts as a single interface for all in-cab systems allowing fleet managers to monitor driver actions and vehicle status in real time, 24/7. PowerVue guides drivers through their day, from start to finish PowerVue plays a key role in each driver s day, from the moment they arrive until the moment they leave for the day. It begins with the ability for single sign-on, either from a vehicle OBC, or from any web browser or timeclock system: PowerVue can both clock in a driver for time and attendance purposes and begin tracking their hours of service (HOS). HOS data can be easily integrated with time and attendance software packages from Kronos and others, so that it can be used for payroll compensation. This ensures that both payroll records and compliance records are identical, leaving no room for audit discrepancies. Once drivers are clocked and signed on, PowerVue guides them through workflows that can be customized to each fleet s preferences. A sign on workflow, for example, could walk the driver through tasks such as reading and acknowledging required messages or performing a pre-trip inspection. Automated tracking; no action required by drivers TEACHING SAFER DRIVING BEHAVIOR PowerVue proactively coaches drivers toward safety performance benchmarks. Managers can set parameters for factors such as speed and idling time, and PowerVue can warn drivers on screen and audibly; for instance, Speed Warning before issuing a violation for management follow up. This gives drivers the opportunity to change their behavior, and hopefully improve performance over time leading to overall improved fleet safety. Throughout the course of their day, drivers do not have to do anything special to record most HOS status changes. PowerVue automates collection and tracking of on-duty and driver hours by monitoring vehicle engine and location activity. When the vehicle departs, the driver s HOS status is automatically updated to on duty, driving. When the vehicle stops at a pickup or delivery location, the driver s HOS status can automatically be changed to on duty, not driving. For these types of HOS activities drivers don t need to manually record anything. Drivers are coached throughout the day on required break times and are always aware of their allotted duty and drive times. Warnings and alerts, to both drivers and managers can ensure compliance with minimal interaction. 2

Most Popular Add-Ons SpeedTracker: provides speed-by-road trip data to track driver behavior against established speed limits for each road traveled by that driver. PowerDown: allows drivers to discreetly inform the office of panic events such as a vehicle hijacking or a driver medical issue, and the office has the option of wirelessly disabling the vehicle from starting or even de-rating a moving vehicle to a complete stop. TempTracker: wirelessly monitors trailer temperatures and door status DeliveryTracker: mobile proof-of-delivery and signature capture. THIRD PARTY INTEGRATIONS PowerVue integrates with third-party systems, to provide intelligent hub for your fleet ALK Technnologies BlueSky Technologies DFS Descartes FuelQuest J. J. Keller & Associates Oracle Orbcomm Retalix Roadnet Telapoint TMW Systems Fleets that use electronic dispatching can inject those plans into vehicle OBCs, and with the optional CoPilot turn-by-turn navigation guide drivers to the next stop. Navigation can be automatic, hands free and seamless no need for multiple devices or screens in the cab. When the driver starts to drive, a full-color map comes up on the OBC accompanied by voice instructions. As the driver proceeds from stop to stop, PowerVue automatically records behavior such as speed, idling, RPMs and braking. This information is critical, not only to ensure safety but also to incent and reward drivers for safe driving behavior. 4
Additional information can be collected off the engine or other monitoring devices and conveyed by PowerVue in real-time to fleet managers. Examples include tire pressure, oil levels, lane departures or potential rollover conditions. And PowerVue easily integrates with just about any third-party product, enabling fleets to make the on-board computer the one conduit through which all data is conveyed, with one wireless data plan and one comprehensive alerting and performance management platform. Geofencing and arrival alerts for customers As the driver approaches a stop, PowerVue is constantly monitoring vehicle location and can be configured to alert recipients of the impending delivery via phone, text or email, so that staff can be prepared. Once the vehicle arrives, the duty status automatically changes to on-duty. PowerVue automatically logs and time stamps the arrival, can record and notify whether the delivery was early, on time or late, and can automatically initiate workflow activities scheduled for that stop drivers don t have to remember what to do next. Most importantly all the data collected is conveyed to back-end systems and fleet managers in real time, with no paper required, and by drivers simply responding to intuitive prompts on their touchscreen display. Besides using the in-cab display, workflows can also be performed remotely from the vehicle with Cadec s DeliveryTracker option. PowerVue is also compatible with other popular, third-party proof of delivery applications. When the driver departs, PowerVue notes the time and changes the driver s duty status. For the rest of the day, PowerVue continues to guide the driver through each stop, noting exceptions to planned arrival and departure times, driving distances, and pickup or delivery exceptions. The goal is 100 percent delivery accuracy to ensure that slim margins aren t eroded. PowerVue manages the information so you can manage your fleet. PowerVue provides the ability to measure and analyze key indicators and trends to optimize fleet performance across the extended supply chain. PowerVue dashboards give an at-aglance visualization of delivery operations health by monitoring KPIs in the areas of Safety, Customer Service, Compliance, Maintenance and Cost. Through a web portal, dashboards can be created for each role across the organization as well as for delivery customers to monitor where-and-when they can expect their deliveries to arrive. By including data from other supply chain Real-time data exchange leads to ultimate flexibility applications, such as routing and scheduling, PowerVue allows for dispatches to be changed dynamically during the course of a driver s day, or have certain activity types, like the drop of a trailer, trigger the next dispatch to be automatically delivered. Planning PowerVue provides a statistical view across the supply chain. 5
systems and dispatchers are provided real-time data to make dispatch decisions to maximize efficiency, reduce cost and provide superior customer service. At the end of the day, PowerVue can detect when the vehicle is approaching, direct the driver to the assigned dock, and present the driver with a customized workflow that might include tasks such as a post-trip report. Single sign off from PowerVue can be performed in the vehicle, through any web browser, or from a company s timeclock system, again ensuring proper time and attendance, as well as HOS accounting. PowerVue guides drivers through every step so the have so they have their time and attention focused on safe driving and customer satisfaction. PowerVue helps Fleet Management keep tabs on safety, compliance and efficiency Monitoring, alerting and scoring are all key features of PowerVue, and all of great interest to transportation managers and their staff, such as dispatchers. Responsible for customer service, these users access PowerVue s web-based system, monitoring assets and fleet status and gathering information about real-time changes and exceptions. If there is an exception such as a delivery that s going to be late, employees can notify customers ahead of time with a personal phone call. Automatic notifications, in real time, to customers Alternatively, PowerVue can be configured for automatic notifications direct to customers, via email, text or phone, and companies can even create portals where customers can check on the status of their deliveries in real time online. The availability of true real-time data in either scenario is very important, and a large advantage PowerVue provides over other fleet management systems, which tend to have 20+ minute delays on data delivery. PowerVue also provides transportation managers with the data they require for compliance, such as fuel tax, HOS and asset tracking. Importantly, this data can help fleets establish learned standards, based on actual driver behavior, for metrics such as the amount of time it should take for a driver to arrive, go to his vehicle, login to PowerVue, obtain his routes for the day, and leave the yard. Once standards in place, PowerVue can be configured to only alert managers to exceptions. These standards also become a baseline, so that managers can explore ways to compress downtime and improve fleet efficiency. Planned v. actual data in PowerVue is also critical for calculating driver pay and incentives. Because PowerVue is also tracking driver behavior, it gives managers the ability to develop very comprehensive driver-pay scenarios, including by-the-hour, by-the-mile, by-the-stop, per-delivery, for on-time performance and rankings by peer. Many fleets use data from PowerVue scorecards on compliance, safety, efficiency and customer service to calculate pay and incentives. PowerVue can feed the data directly into a payroll system. PowerVue provides fleet executives with critical data for planning, optimizing While fleet managers worry about daily operations, fleet executives are always looking for ways to improve overall efficiency to improve margins. PowerVue plays a key role, providing data to inform strategy and planning. Fleet executives can mine this historical data in order to improve future performance. For instance, a look a Planned v Actual data for a common route might show that the route should take 42 minutes, but regularly takes 60 minutes due to timeof-day traffic. Fleet executives looking at the big picture might decide to re-schedule that route to an earlier time of day when traffic is lighter. Importantly, PowerVue data is extremely helpful for predictive analysis for instance, predicting which drivers are most likely to violate safety rules. Scorecarding is also useful for fleet executives, who can view overall fleet operations through different lenses such as operations, customer service and risk management. 6
