Cardiff Portal What is Cardiff Portal? The Cardiff Portal provides links to the most useful services for students doing courses at Cardiff University. It allows you to access your university email and Learning Central amongst other things. How do I change my user password in the Portal? In your browser, go to https://portal.cf.ac.uk Step 1 Select link Under Password Management click Change your password 2
Step 2 - Login Login with the username and password you have been provided with Step 3 change password a. Type New Password b. Type the same password again in Confirm Password c. Click Change Password button Note: you should also now set up security questions; you will need this if you forget your password. 3

Learning Central What is Learning Central? Learning Central is Cardiff University's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). This is a web-based application that supports online learning and teaching. It provides an integrated environment to enable learning, with a secure space for each separate module. Each module space can include features such as announcements to the module group, learning resources and materials, links to library resources, and group online communication tools. Before you access Learning Central, it is best to check you have an up to date browser which supports Learning Central. How do I access Learning Central? Once you are logged into Cardiff Portal, select the Study tab along the top and click the Take me to Learning Central graphic. This will take you to your Learning Central home page. What is my Learning Central Home Page? When you access Learning Central, you will see your home page. On this page, you can quickly see any Announcements for your module(s) and access your module(s) under My 7
Modules. This home page also includes a few useful links at the top right (particularly Help), and tabs along the top left (Home, Modules and so on). These links and tabs are visible in any screen within Learning Central, for easy navigation. How do I open my Learning Central module? All the modules you are enrolled for in the university are listed in the My Modules section of the Learning Central home page. Simply select the link for your required module from that list of My Modules. This will open the chosen module. Office 365 is the email service for students at Cardiff University. Throughout the module and your time studying with Cardiff, you will receive emails from your tutors or from your fellow learners or from the university. These will be delivered to your university email account. Therefore, you need to check your university email regularly. 8
