Where some people see fear... We see a Challenge! PUT YOUR BEST FOOT FORWARD! As per the decision of the Joint Admission Board (JAB), the pattern of the IIT-JEE exam has two papers each of 3 hours duration. Each of the papers has questions of all the three subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The question paper includes Comprehensions on topics in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics followed by Objective questions that are based on the Comprehension. It includes Matching problems, Objective type questions with one or more than one correct answer, Assertion-Reasoning type questions and Numerical Grid Questions. This tests the comprehension ability as well as the analytical ability of the students while retaining the objective character of the test. As per the new eligibility criteria, candidates appearing in (10+2) or equivalent qualifying examination must secure at least 60% (55% for SC/ST and PD) marks in aggregate in their respective Board Examination. A student can have only two attempts to write JEE and three attempts to write AIEEE, first in the year in which he or she passes the XII standard examination and / or in the following year. This means students have to take the first attempt in the year in which he/she appears in the XII board examinations very seriously. Testing pattern of IIT-JEE keeps on changing but the key aspect of the tests is to judge the analytical ability of the aspirants alongwith the core knowledge of the subjects. IIT- JEE requires an analytical approach and it is quite different from School studies. AIEEE paper consists of Assertion-Reasoning questions, comprehensions also with MCQ's based on them in each subject. Now since the admission to DCE and NSIT are also done through AIEEE, this exam has become even more significant. Remember, students having the sound fundamental knowledge of all level of concepts will always outperform the students who are only confining their preparation to the pattern rather than understanding the concepts. Students who follow the basic planning to make their core fundamental knowledge clear up to the grassroot level, always surpass the others at any exam. Benefit of the Programme : XII Pass Students INFORMATION LETTER Last chance to update yourself, remove your weak areas and develop the concept clarity to achieve a good rank in premier Engineering colleges.

Class XI students feel a big difference in the level of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from X to XI. Required effort to get good percentage in XI exams is far more than that needed to get a similar percentage in X Board Exams. IIT-JEE preparation calls for not only a different approach but higher level of analytical skills and even greater effort. The level of studies and the vast curriculum requires a sincere effort to be made by the students. If you are not mentally prepared for the grill and if you had taken Science and wish to do Engineering or have to join any institute, just because your parents want you
to, or because the trend demands it, please don't do it. Remember Class XI and XII Board Exam syllabi for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are more or less same as that for Competitive Exams. Difference lies only in approach. Even if you have prepared very well from XI and XII exam point of view, you will still need an intense effort to make sure your preparation is adequate from Competitive point of view. Do not dilute preparation of any topic because of any factors. Unlike School/Board exams you cannot score in Competitive exams without understanding the basic concept properly. Mere understanding of a concept is not adequate. You have to learn to apply these concepts in solving tricky problems. Problems in IIT-JEE are not direct application of a concept. Many IIT-JEE problems involve more than one basic concept. Develop your analytical skills. Do not give up solving a problem after one or two attempts only. It is only by doing and trying to solve difficult problems that you can improve your analytical skills. Fighting with a problem is a basic instinct of the future IITians. You have to optimally use the time available to you. This would also mean cutting down on your extra-curricular and sports activities etc. Remember the time available in a day is unexpandable. Give top priority to getting into IITs/other top Engineering Colleges. There is no dearth of books and problems available. One has to draw boundaries and concentrate on quality and relevant problems rather than quantity. It is more important to practise relevant problems over and over again rather than doing innumerable problems once. Revise all concepts and clear all your doubts. Take several tests in the right environment to convert your knowledge into marks. 'DISCIPLINE IS THE FOCUS AREA' To develop comprehensive understanding and its application, you require certain minimum number of hours of classroom interaction. In classroom interaction all three subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics should be given equal importance and the classroom interaction should be frequent, i.e. about thrice a week. We understand this aspect of training and have developed our system accordingly. But this classroom interaction will be beneficial only if you devote the required number of self study hours also. You have to follow the guidelines honestly and we will help you bring out your potential. We require complete devotion, discipline and hard work from your side.
We have planned your academics through complete training : You will have the right mixture of classes, problem solving and doubt sessions supplemented with in-depth and relevant study material. This will help you develop comprehensive understanding of concepts and their applications. Assignments shall contain objective, subjective, matching type, comprehensions based, assertion reasoning type problems. You will be given surprise drills, monthly drills as well as All India Test Series to develop the exact examination temperament. We have planned academics in such a way that your preparation will be done for all Competitive Exams. Why Sehgal School of Competitions? SSC : Permanent faculty including experienced Ex-IITians & Roorkians and Professors from reputed colleges. Changeable teachers every now and then. Inexperienced teachers who don t possess the knowledge of the trends of Competitive Exams. SSC : Justified Fee with scholarships. Very high fee. SSC : Credibility maintained since the last 17 years with top ranks in premier Engineering Colleges. No standard credibility because the teachers are not attached to one centre only. SSC : Limited batches. Individual attention to every student by the Core faculty. Huge number of batches. Main faculty teaching only in the best Batch and there too no individual attention because of a large number of students per batch. SSC : Healthy environment with congenial learning atmosphere and time to time interaction and counselling by the faculty. No interaction with the faculty besides classes. A complete mechanical approach is followed. SSC : Exact level of papers to match the toughness & latest pattern of the real exams. Paper level doesn t match with the exact exam pattern. Either high level or irrelevant questions. SSC : Most of our admissions are done on the basis of word of mouth publicity only, so we don't spend heavily on advertisements. High level spending on advertisements and marketing activities to attract the students and parents on false grounds.
