Investing in the UK Economy With plans to create over 4,000 jobs between 2013 and 2023, reliance on the skills and expertise of the workforce in the UK is significant. You re in great company Discover the four main parts of ScottishPower in the UK. ScottishPower Generation ScottishPower Renewables ScottishPower Renewables is a leader in onshore wind energy and a pioneer in tidal energy all thanks to 1 billion of UK investment from Iberdrola since 2007. ScottishPower Renewables has a 20 year record of developing and operating onshore wind projects in the UK. We are also playing our part in developing offshore windfarms. Looking to the future, we are developing marine energy projects, including a worldfirst 10 MW demonstration tidal array in the Sound of Islay. Gas. Coal. Hydro-electric. It s about striking the right balance. This part of our business helps ensure we have enough power to meet our customers energy requirements. We develop, operate and maintain a broad portfolio of power generation assets across the UK, including coal, gas and hydro-electric power stations. We focus on maximising our plant efficiency, availability, flexibility and reliability, while continually investing in our portfolio to continue our role in meeting the UK s future energy needs. Like everything we do, Generation focuses on delivering competitive energy from across its portfolio, while working towards minimising the environmental impact. We want to get the balance right. ScottishPower Energy Networks ScottishPower Energy Networks distributes electricity via a network of pylons, substations, cables and power lines to over 3.5 million homes and businesses across Central and Southern Scotland, Cheshire, Merseyside, North Shropshire and North Wales. ScottishPower Energy Retail 5.6 million that s how many UK businesses and homes we supply with gas, electricity, or both. Business or household for many, our retail division is the face of ScottishPower. In fact, it covers everything from helping customers to choose the best tariff, right through to collecting payment working to make each step as smooth as possible. We also handle data and metering, through our whollyowned subsidiary Dataserve UK. Retail also holds all our supply licences in the UK. Investing in local communities Cleaner and more sustainable energy - the benefits of renewable power generation for the UK are clear and with 9.3m invested in our windfarm communities, we ensure local people benefit from our renewable energy projects too. Whitelee Windfarm is one example of this investment in action - with 215 turbines it s the largest in the UK, located just 20 minutes from Glasgow. This project alone has contributed more than 3.3m to local community funds. Whitelee has its own visitor and education centre - attracting 250,000 people since opening in 2009, with many using the 130km network of tracks for cycling, horse riding and walking. 9.3M Contribution to local community funds since 2002 6 7

ScottishPower Commercial Energy Account management Complex contracts. Fast-moving markets. With energy, it could pay to have our experience on your side. Our account managers have an average of 16 years experience in the sector. So when you pick up the phone or meet with us face-to-face, we aim to make sure you re talking to someone that really understands commercial energy. Our account managers have an average of 16 years experience in the energy industry From the moment you become a ScottishPower Commercial Energy customer, we work to make the whole process as smooth as possible. That includes a system that tracks your queries, helping us to deliver the service you expect from your energy supplier. And our team will be with you throughout the relationship working to make sure you are aware and have access to our value added product and services. Dedicated support for our largest customers Of course, we recognise that some customers need even more from their energy supplier. If your business has more than 25 sites and chooses group billing, you will have an account manager. If you have more than 250 sites, you will have a named account management team. In any case, this service is backed up by the full support of our broader team including areas such as billing and credit for your ScottishPower account. This helps us to work in close partnership with your business, to maintain a site portfolio which is as accurate as possible. 12 13

Group billing A single group tax invoice. And as many site summaries as your business needs. Just two ways we can help make sure that your energy bills suit your business needs. Why does energy billing have to be so complicated? Quite simply, it doesn t. That s why ScottishPower offers a range of options, each built around your needs as a complex, multi-site business. Generate a single group tax invoice Accountable energy made easy Many of our customers prefer to receive a single group tax invoice for their energy supported by statements that we send to each site. Or, if you prefer, we can send your invoice to a central address. It really is up to you. These statements give a breakdown of each site s consumption, metering, tariff types and supply number(s). In turn, the site summaries can help give your business more balance between local information and central control. Work with us to manage your portfolio To take advantage of group billing, supply us with your up-to-date business details. We ll then ask you how you would like your sites to be categorised (for example, by geographical area). If you have unique company identifier codes for each site, we can add these to your invoice. Internet Invoicing Service If your business is billed as a group, this service gives you secure access to the information you need to monitor your energy consumption and costs. For example, you can view group statement financial totals or drill down to see the charges for individual supply addresses and meter readings. Of course, simple PDF statements and invoices are available too if it applies to your business, you can also download Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) statements. 14 15

Energy solutions We think there has never been a better time to manage your energy use more effectively in part because the Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme (CRC) has been introduced for larger businesses. As your energy supplier, simply ask us and we ll provide the annual statement you need to meet the Environment Agency s reporting criteria. 60 % Savings of up to 60% on lighting consumption can be achieved 6 We go further still by offering larger businesses a range of added value services and solutions designed to assist in the increasingly challenging environment of carbon reduction and energy efficiency. One team. Three solutions. Each dedicated to a single aim: helping you use less energy. What are the main commercial demands you re looking to meet? And how do they balance with your environmental goals? Our UK-based team gives you access to a vast amount of expertise, coupled with a thorough understanding of the unique challenges you face in your sector. The aim: To help you save on your energy costs and operate more sustainably. Within the commercial sector in the UK, up to 20% of energy used is for lighting 6 Energy Portal See it and you could save it. View your energy consumption online. Energy Surveys Help you understand how your building uses energy and find practical solutions to help reduce consumption. Energy Projects You could take a load off your mind with complete solutions and installations managed by ScottishPower. 16 6. Source: www.carbontrust.co.uk 13.09.10 17
