This involves a wide ranging examination of all your energy consumption starting with a detailed look at your energy bills, the data held about your account by the energy supplier, meter types, standing charge, energy allowance, etc. This is the first step in making sure that you are on the best rates, the correct meter type and that what you are being billed is right for your business. Personal service from a named individual Your account will be looked after by one of our energy consultants, they each have a direct dial, making it easy for you to reach them. The consultants don t work alone, they are part of a larger team who are ready to lend a hand with advice and support so you can be sure you get the right level of service. 4 Helping you protect your business from price increases with Fixed, Semi-flexible and flexible pricing We are able to offer a range of pricing options to suit your business needs: Fixed prices can range in contract duration; longer contracts fix your energy tariff so you have the stability of knowing just what you will be paying in the future and removing the danger of energy price hikes catching your business by surprise. A semi-flexible contract allows you to buy a percentage of your energy at a fixed rate upfront and then the remainder of their energy either off the day ahead, week ahead, month ahead or season ahead prices. A fully flexible contract allows you to buy energy either: off the day ahead, week ahead, month ahead, year ahead or season ahead prices. The software that produces the Energy Health Check has been produced in-house by Utilitywise and uses the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) benchmark figures; the same data that is used to produce an official Display Energy Certificate (DEC). This is the first step in reducing your energy costs and lowering your carbon footprint. Energy Audit To drill down into the details of energy use and the steps needed to make energy savings, you need a full Energy Audit. This is a full review of your site conducted by teams of qualified and accredited energy surveyors. The final report shows current energy consumption, suggestions on energy saving improvements (usually a mix of altering people s behaviour and energy-efficient equipment) and detailed payback times. Smart Meters Smart meters (also known as AMR meters) are a new generation of electricity and gas meters which communicate your energy use on an on-going basis with your energy supplier. They put to an end to estimated bills and someone coming to read the meter. Smart meters are a business requirement from 2014, depending upon the type of meter at your site and the amount of energy consumed; your Utilitywise energy consultant will be able to offer you detailed guidance and advice on where your business stands regarding smart meters and arrange for one to be fitted. As long as the client has a smart meter the data can be taken into Utility Insight. It does not matter who owns the meter or who supplies the energy, the data can still be routed to Utility Insight. The Utility Insight system allows you and our energy managers to view the utility use data and interrogate it for utility management needs. Edd:e circuit level energy monitoring To get total visibility of your energy use down to the individual circuit level you need Edd:e. Edd:e monitors each circuit on the distribution board it is wired to. This means that you can get detailed energy use from every distribution board in your business. The data from Edd:e is fed into a web-based reporting platform that allows you to see your energy use across all your circuits in real time from any web connected computer. The system retains two years worth of data. For example: it means that you could see the energy used by your lighting on one floor and compare it with the energy used by the lights on another floor, in real time. This means that almost as soon as someone switches a light off then you can see the energy usage drop. Edd:e offers an incredible amount of detail about your energy use: Identify where, when & how energy is being consumed on site. Identify unusual, unexpected or above average levels of consumption. Shows where energy consumption can be reduced. Show actions that can be taken to lower your carbon footprint. The information it provides allows you to make informed decisions about the action to take to save energy, lower your energy bills, reduce your carbon footprint and manage the total energy load in your business. Edd:e provides so much information you get an energy consultant to help you understand and interpret the on-going data flow in a series of monthly desktop consultancy reports.

8 These reports can be customised to meet your needs but will always include an analysis of your overall consumption, out of hour s consumption and a report on your lighting. Edd:e will on average show a way to reduce your energy by 27% and it has shown up to a 48.3% reduction. With energy prices continuing to rise and showing no signs of slowing down, installing Edd:e at three of our sites has played a huge part in HEROtsc being able to make informed management decisions based on the insightful data the Edd:e system is able to report. We now know how, where and when electricity is being consumed on these sites. In particular the Edd:e system has helped us monitor unexpected consumption during the night helping to reduce our energy base load.
