Stonehaven Uniform Policy Guidelines Grandfathering of ACCA uniforms Uniform items having the ACCA crest and ACCA plaid will be allowed through December 18 th, 2015. When students return to school after Christmas break on January 4th, 2016, ACCA uniforms will no longer be allowed. All ACCA items can be donated to the school by December 18 th, at which time we will ship them to a village in Africa via Wiphan ministries. The following items are not changing with the transition to Stonehaven uniforms: All khaki and grey skirts, skorts, shorts, and pants All PE pants and shorts Shoes, socks, tights requirements Coat requirements (sweaters and jackets worn inside ARE changing, but coat requirements are not). New Stonehaven items (shirts, skirts, jumpers) will available for purchase from the school until January at a 30% discount, and after January while supplies last. Shoes and socks The policy allows students to wear the same pair of shoes everyday (see required chapel shoe dress code). However, students have the option to wear a solid white athletic shoe on non-chapel days. PE shoes must be an athletic shoe, but are not required to be solid white. Chapel Shoe Requirement (can also be worn on non-chapel days): Boys: Black and/or Brown oxford, buc, loafer, or moc ( All-weather mocs are permitted) Girls: All students: Black, navy, or brown flat, mary-jane, or loafer. No stripes, bands, other designs permitted, solid or two-toned only Dark sole (black or brown) required No open-toed or open-heeled (i.e., no crocs) No sandals, hikers, platforms, clogs, bowling style shoes permitted. Optional Casual Athletic Shoe All students: White shoe with no stripes, logos, bands, other designs permitted (i.e., K-swiss Classic or New Balance shoe). Black or navy and white saddle oxford is permitted (i.e., Keds saddle oxford) Predominantly white soles No open-toed or open-heeled (i.e., no crocs) All Students - If a white athletic shoe is worn, white socks must accompany. No dark socks with white shoes. Boys Solid dark dress socks are required with dark shoes for chapel, solid tan OR dark socks acceptable with dark shoes on non-chapel days Girls solid navy socks or tights are required for chapel, but solid white OR navy knee socks or tights are acceptable with dark shoes on non-chapel days *Leggings are not an approved uniform item. Shirts Shirts are to be tucked in at all times. Blousing of shirts is not permitted. Approved sweatshirts and sweaters must be worn with a collared uniform shirt underneath. Long sleeve t-shirts are not permitted under the uniform polo. Short-sleeve undershirts must be white. Belts Not required for Pre-K & K. 1 st 8 th Grades Leather belts must be worn with items having belt loops. Canvas/cloth belts not permitted. Coats Winter coats may be purchased from any store but must be navy, black, or charcoal, solid color. No characters, logos, or designs permitted. Coats are not to be worn inside the building. Refer to guidelines for sweaters and jackets which may be worn indoors.
Stonehaven Spirit Day Guidelines General Dress Code Guidelines On designated Spirit Days (generally once/month), students may wear an official Stonehaven Spirit Shirt (available for purchase from the school office) or Stonehaven Uniform Polo or Stonehaven boosterthon t- shirt. Students may wear jeans or shorts with no holes, tears, stains, logos, or characters. Shorts must meet the fingertip test for length. No sweatpants. Leggings may only be worn under a skirt or shorts. P.E pants or shorts are permitted. All uniform items must contain student name. Clothing may be selected to permit reasonable growing room, but extreme over-sizing is not permitted. Tattoos are not permitted. Pre-K 5 th Grade Girls: earring studs are permitted, nothing hanging below the ear lobe. Necklaces and bracelets should not be visible. This is as much a safety concern as it is a uniform concern. Middle School Girls: modest jewelry is allowed (i.e., gold/silver loop earrings, gold/silver necklaces or bracelets.) Earrings, necklaces and bracelets are not permitted on boys. Nail color IS permitted on girls as long as it does not become a distraction. Excessive make-up is not permitted. Unnaturally colored/dyed hair is not permitted. Hair must be neatly groomed and conservatively styled. Boys hair must be short enough that the eyebrows, top of the collar, and bottom of the ear are always visible. Afro styled hair may be a maximum of 3 inches from the scalp. Any outlandish or distracting clothing, jewelry, make-up, hairstyle or appearance will not be permitted. Student apparel (e.g. Spirit Day clothing) and school gear (e.g. backpacks, lunch containers, notebooks, etc.) shall not display any commercial slogans, product promotions, celebrity representations, or any pictures/cartoons of commercial characters. Enforcement The school faculty and administration will enforce the Uniform and Dress Code Policy. Students not complying with the Uniform and Dress Code Policy will be required to rectify their appearance immediately. Cheerful, consistent compliance is expected. Students who violate the Uniform and Dress Code Policy, either by action or by challenging and rebellious attitudes, will be subject to disciplinary actions. If repeated or extreme violations occur, parents will be contacted to correct the violation immediately.
