The answers on the form should be in line with the application of the NAC as approved by the EAC. Some items can be completed by providing a check mark or a brief answer (e.g., filling in a date, name, number or address). With other items further descriptive information is required from all NACs. There are also items which some NACs can answer by providing a tick while for other NACs there is a need to supply descriptive information. Further clarification will be needed whenever there is not a uniform arrangement for all fields of practice in a country. Each item has a number and you are asked to provide descriptive information in an Appendix of which the number corresponds with the number of the item. NB Please indicate with the item where you add an Appendix: see Appendix 1, see Appendix 2, etc. The form should be complete when all grey text has been completed. 1

3a Please describe the arrangements for one year (or equivalent) supervised practice Since there is a wide variety of professional experience (see above), we have set up a differentiated system for supervised practice: I. No evaluation is needed this case refers to those colleagues who have earned a postgraduate title 'Specialist in [Clinical Psychology / Health Psychology / Psychology of Counseling / Educational Psychology / Work and Organizational] Psychology'. Since their training included a practice of 1500 hours, they don't have to be formally evaluated. They have to hand in the copy of their Specialist certificate instead. Since November 2013, Specialists can apply for EuroPsy Certificate in Hungary. For February 2014, ten colleagues were awarded who fulfil these requirements. II. Evaluation in one session this case refers to those colleagues who have already been practising for one year in the last five years as a psychologist and they have a person (e.g. a Specialist in psychology) who could apply for supervising them. The supervisor can decide whether one session is eligible for evaluate the Applicant or the evaluation needs more time and effort - if so, Case III is to be applied. Since May 2013, we developed a syllabus for the training of supervisors. It has been approved by the National Office for Occupation Affairs (the authority in charge for adult education programmes). The training will contain 30 hours (of which 10 are contact hours) and will be led by Hungarian NAC members. When the first group of supervisors will be trained we open the application for colleagues who belong to Category II. III. "Retroactive" evaluation this case refers to those colleagues who have already been practising for at least one year but they don't have a person (e.g. a Specialist in psychology) who could apply for supervising them. Therefore s/he will have to search up a Supervisor from the National Register of EuroPsy Supervisors who will evaluate him/her. If a sufficient number of supervisors will be trained in all regions covering Hungarian psychologist education system, we open application to colleagues who belong to Category III. IV. Continuous evaluation this case refers to those who are currently psychology students or beginners and s/he takes part in supervised work (in some fields it has now become obligatory for beginner psychologists). If so, his/her official supervisor may also evaluate his/her performance for EuroPsy Certificate. A question arises what to do if the official supervisor is not a psychologist. If a sufficient number of supervisors will be trained in all regions covering Hungarian psychologist education system and covering all specializations, we open application for psychology students and freshmen. 3b Training of supervisors National arrangement for training of supervisors is in place, arranged by the NAC 5
arranged by the national psychologists association(s) offered by universities other Various arrangements for training of supervisors are in place There is no organised training program in the country As described in the previous question, the National Office for Occupation Affairs approved the syllabus of the EuroPsy Supervisors Training organized by the EuroPsy Committee (NAC) of Hungarian Psychological Association. The first training will be taken place in the second half of 2014. Currently the NAC members are preparing for train the supervisors. 3c Level of training of supervisors (see Appendix V of the EFPA Regulations on EuroPsy) Most supervisors meet Level 1 criteria Most supervisors meet Level 2 or Level 1 criteria Most supervisors meet Level 3 or higher criteria Most supervisors meet Level 4 or higher criteria Most supervisors meet Level 5 or higher criteria Most supervisors do not meet EuroPsy training requirements Currently, we have 86 supervisors who have been selected to take part in Grandparenting but most of them are meeting Level 1 criteria. Our aim is to invite wannabe supervisors for our first trainings who also meet Level 1 or Level 2 criteria. (NB. Our training will continue theoretical and practical knowledge on supervision.) 4. Recognition of Title, Licence to Practice, Revalidation & Continued Professional Development (CPD) 4a Recognition of title Psychologist is not a legally recognized and protected title Psychologist is a legally recognized and protected title Psychologist is a legally recognized and protected title for some areas of practice Currently an Act of Psychology is being prepared by the Hungarian Psychological Association. If the Act comes into effect, the Hungarian Psychological Association will operate further as a chamber with an exclusive right to group psychologists, and therefore Psychologist becomes a legally recognized and protected title. 6
4b License to practice There is no license or entry in a register needed for practising psychology There is a license or entry in a register needed for practising in some areas of practice Currently all Clinical Psychologists must hold a licence, and every school psychologists must have postgraduate degree of School Psychology or any other specialization.
