Underwater technology MARITIME 5 Personal protective equipment for underwater use If you aim to sell personal protective equipment (PPE) such as diving apparatuses, diving suits, life jackets and buoyancy compensator jackets within the European Union, it needs to be CE-marked. With our smooth processes, we can successfully lead you to your CE-marking. Our experts certify protective diving equipment of all kind for professional, military or leisure use. This includes the harmonised European standards for PPE like EN 250 (air diving apparatus, SCUBA), EN 13949 (diving apparatus for use with nitrox and oxygen), EN 14143 (rebreather), EN 15333 (umbilical supplied diving apparatus), EN 1809 (buoyancy compensators), EN 12628 (combined buoyancy and rescue devices), EN 12402 (buoyancy aids, life jackets), EN 14225 (diving suits) and EN 15027 (immersion suits). In case no suitable standard can be applied, we develop customised test procedures according to Annex II of the EC Directive 89/686/EEC which allow us to certify innovative PPE accordingly. Furthermore, we are authorised to conduct regular product quality audits according to article 11 of the EC Directive 89/686/EEC for quality-controlled manufacturing and certification. Let our wide service portfolio empower you in choosing a tailored, fullservice solution from a single source from DNV GL. Lifting bags When lifting bags are used for heavy loads or during complex diving operations, a reliable functioning is essential in order to avoid accidents, injuries or damages due to sudden dropping of loads or unforeseen lifting. For distribution in the European trading area, lifting bags need to meet at least the requirements of the EU Directive 2001/95/EC for product safety. For the safe operation of lifting bags, the IMCA D016 serves as the perfect guidance. Count on DNV GL to support you in compliancy with the EU Directive and other relevant regulations. We are your ideal partner for everything centred round the safe operation and manufacturing of lifting bags. And we can ultimately help you enter new markets with our expert support.
