We Need Your Help! One of the reasons VBS is so successful is because of our dedicated volunteers. We ask all of our parents to help in one way or another. Storytelling, music, craft, snack, decoration, and recreation helpers are some of the volunteer positions. Join the fun and see how God is working throughout the program--and through you! We are also looking for teen aides (eighth grade and older). Teens who like helping kids will love VBS! In addition, teens can earn student service learning hours. Please call Elizabeth Rosales at 301-881-1380 if you are interested. And we love to have grandparents and other friends spend some time with us! 917 Montrose Road Rockville, MD 20852 VBS at June 20 - June 24, 2016 9:00 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. Co-Sponsored by Rockville, MD and Little Flower Church Bethesda, MD Director: Elizabeth Rosales Space is limited, so enroll early!
on the Nile! Egypt VBS helps learners imagine and explore what it was like to live in a dusty, bustling, noisy city in ancient Egypt amidst a culture that had never heard of the one true God. What would they think about the new guy Pharaoh put in charge of storing and distributing food the former prisoner who seems to have the gift of interpreting dreams? At Egypt VBS, kids learn one important Bible Point each day, reinforced through songs and hands-on activities that teach children in the way that they learn best. Each morning, the Egyptian families (agelevel groups) will gather in their classrooms and then head down to Assembly, where they ll be introduced to the story and bible verse of the day and view an episode of Joseph King of Dreams. Next, they ll visit five different stations: lifting their voices at Mediterranean Music, sampling tasty treats at the Caravan Café, hearing the day s scripture at Joseph s Journey, developing their creativity at Colossus Crafts, and exercising at Pyramid Playground! Additionally, kids will work on a group service project and will be given daily assignments that will help them apply the VBS themes to their lives in a very real way. It is our prayer that kids and volunteers alike will leave Egypt as more confident, faith-filled God-followers in a world that often seems godless. Bible Points, Stories, and Memory Verses Monday: God gives us hope. Joseph interprets dreams in prison. (Genesis 40:1-23) For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11) Tuesday: God gives us special abilities. Pharaoh puts Joseph in charge. (Genesis 41:1-40) In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. (Romans 12:6) Wednesday: God gives us wisdom. Joseph leads Egypt through famine. (Genesis 41:41-42:5) If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. (James 1:5) Thursday: God gives us forgiveness. Joseph forgives his brothers. (Genesis 42:6-45:15) But you are a God of forgiveness, slow to become angry, and rich in unfailing love. (Nehemiah 9:17) Friday: God gives us a family. Joseph settles his family in Egypt. (Genesis 45:16-47:27) For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
