A GUIDE TO THE MUSEUM AND MAJOR EXHIBITIONS AT THE CENTRE POMPIDOU FOR FREE ON SMARTPHONES AND TABLETS. On 20 March, the Centre Pompidou is launching its new, free app. In three languages French, English and Spanish this enables you to plan, accompany and extend your visit to the Centre Pompidou. Designed for use by a very broad audience, and developed with support from Pernod Ricard, a major Centre Pompidou sponsor, it stands out for its ease of use and wide-ranging content. The new Centre Pompidou app offers everyone a completely new, mobile, dynamic visiting experience, which is both rich and intuitive says Alain Seban, President of the Centre Pompidou. This new tool provides privileged access to the Centre Pompidou s incomparable collection, the richness and diversity of its exhibitions, its iconic building and the history of art in the 20 th and 21 st centuries through an original, active historical timeline. The new Centre Pompidou app is designed for smartphones and tablets. It can be downloaded from Android and Apple stores, and soon from the Windows Store. The app is regularly updated, and throughout the year provides new visiting circuits for major exhibitions and events, and new presentations of the museum s modern and contemporary collections. 5 2 A GUIDE TO THE COLLECTION 1. THE MUSEUM ROOM BY ROOM VISIT AN INCOMPARABLE COLLECTION Through the guided tour app, audiences can explore the museum by using the two clickable plans corresponding to the two floors (levels 4 and 5) devoted respectively to the Centre Pompidou modern and contemporary collections as a guide. The new presentation of the modern collections featuring 200 iconic works (level 5: 1905-1965) will be accessible when it reopens to the public on 27 May 2015. By browsing the plan, visitors can view each room in the presentation, and see its theme and introductory text. They will find a complete list of the works exhibited in the selected area, with a reproduction of each one with a notice. If visitors want to go further, longer notices with more information are also available, linked with the corresponding works and audio commentaries.

AN ORIGINAL, ACTIVE CHRONOLOGY 1905 2015: 110 YEARS OF MODERN AND CONTEMPORARY ART For a clearer and more comprehensible picture of the history of art in the 20th and 21st centuries, this huge, original, rich and active chronology enables you to pick out historic and artistic landmarks using a simple pinch movement (with tablets, or scrolldown with smartphones) to open and close the Timeline. Through a wide choice of works from the Centre Pompidou collection, visitors can situate the figures, icons, trends and movements that marked the development of modernity in relation to major historical events and landmarks in terms of politics, economy, science and culture. This chronology covers 110 years of modern and contemporary art by drawing from the Centre Pompidou s incomparable collection. It proposes a sample of works present in the rooms or linked with the themes of various hangs together with a selection of works chosen to illustrate the huge range of artistic expression, and give a comprehensive picture of the history of modern and contemporary art. A constantly updated selection of over 200 works from the collection, with comments A chronology of 140 movements in the history of art, accompanied by a lexicon of the main formal inventions in the areas of the visual arts, photography, architecture, design, experimental film and video. With certain works, short additional commentaries biographies of artists and quotations taken from the Virtual Centre Pompidou make it possible to study a work in more detail.
7 3 A GUIDE TO EXHIBITIONS Guided tours of exhibitions are based on works selected with their curators. They are devised with their help, and consist of audio commentaries, texts and quotations from artists. UNE HISTOIRE CIRCUIT This circuit takes you through the new hang of the museum s contemporary collection (level 4). It provides a selection of around twenty works with comments, providing an itinerary through contemporary art since the Eighties in terms of painting, sculpture, installation, photography, architecture and design. Some of these commentaries take the form of interviews with the artists. JEFF KOONS CIRCUIT THE RETROSPECTIVE EXHIBITION RUNS UNTIL 27 APRIL 2015 GALERIE 1, LEVEL 6 The circuit for the exhibition devoted to the work of Jeff Koons is introduced by Bernard Blistène, director of the Musée National d Art Moderne and curator of the exhibition. Using the plan available on the screen, visitors can access audio commentaries for a selection of around twenty of the works on show. CIRCUIT FOR THE CENTRE POMPIDOU NOUVEAU FESTIVAL 6 TH EDITION/ PLAYGROUND 15 APRIL - 20 JULY 2015 GALERIE SUD, ESPACE 315, FORUM -1 A laboratory for new forms of creation, the Nouveau Festival of the Centre Pompidou is trying out a new, extended format this year: a high point in the Centre Pompidou s forward-looking and multi-disciplinary programme. For three months, visual artists, performers, dancers, theorists and film directors will be playing in the same field, creating a dialogue between art and games. Symposiums, talks and discussions will stimulate thought. Three months for playing and thinking.
8 4 A GUIDE TO AN ICONIC BUILDING DISCOVERING THE ARCHITECTURE OF THE CENTRE POMPIDOU This visit in the form of an architectural promenade is based on audio commentaries describing the various aspects of the building designed by Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers. Explore the Centre Pompidou, its history, its specific character, its position in the urban landscape, the numerous areas it contains and the techniques and materials used to construct it.
