Referential LAB CIL Ref 02 is a combination from ISO/IEC 17025 and from ISO/IEC 43-1 guide. portée disponible su r. Main roles: On the basis of the consensual values that we establish statistically (means and standard deviation), each participant can evaluate their analytical performance in relation to all other laboratories. Through our ILC campaigns, you can demonstrate your ability to carry out tests on wine proficiently and thereby provide your clients with a guarantee of the accuracy of your analysis results. Given the importance of knowing the value of certain physicochemical parameters of wine with certainty, we can understand the interest of our ILC campaigns. It is therefore essential that you take part in ILC to guarantee the quality of your results and this is an obligation for COFRAC Programme 78 accredited laboratories or those applying to be accredited. Eligibility: All French or foreign laboratories handling wine analyses may take part in our campaigns as long as they undertake to comply with our guidelines. ILC campaigns: Campaigns organised since 1980. In 2008 organisation of a campaign from January to December. 8 ILC forecast for the 2009 campaign. Distribution of 1 brick pack sample or one bottle samples for each ILC. A total of 8 samples per campaign. Objects tested: Product tested: wine complying with the definition in Regulation EEC n 2165/2005 establishing a common organisation of the vine and wine market. The samples of wine are 1 litre brick packs or 0.75 litre bottles. Variety of matrices covered by packing a wine of different colour and origin for each ILC.

Scope of tests: Physicochemical analyses. About thirty parameters are studied, especially the most frequent (Cf. the attached response table template ). Number: More than 200 participants expected Confidentiality: Of the participants results. Laboratory identity by default. Coordinator: The National Management is in charge of coordinating the activities involved in ILC. Advisory Group: The Laboratory Commission of the U.Œ.F is in charge supervising ILC campaigns. Working of the Round Robin Analysis: Handled by the oenologist / quality manager ILC campaign process: National executive board Subcontractors Laboratories (includ referral) National executive board National executive board National executive board ILC campaign planning Preparation and distribution of the samples Conducting analyses Recording results Statistical analysis of data Issue and distribution of the statistical report Advisory group To conduct each of our ILC campaigns, we make use of subcontractors: o a bottling plant to prepare the samples. o postal services to distribute the samples. o an (accredited) referral laboratory to carry out tests to provide statistical analysis of batch homogeneity and sample stability. o a Doctor in Statistics for statistical analysis of the data and to assess homogeneity and stability. Planning and performance of the campaigns are based on the PT Réalisation d un service procedure. Homogeneity and stability are checked with Protocole des essais and PT Homogénéité et Stabilité.

Statistical processing: The various stages are as follows: Stage 1: Data collection: This operation is carried out in an Excel spreadsheet in which the laboratories remain anonymous. Stage 2: Coherence of data Stage 3: Processing of data for each parameter: - application of robust estimation algorithms for means and standard deviations (algorithms A and S in standard 5725 5 included in the ISO 13528 standard). - study of the homogeneity and stability of the samples on the parameters: alcohol content, MV, total acidity, total SO2, ph, reducing sugars and malic acid - validation of all the calculations. Stage 4: Preparation of the documents sent to the U.Œ.F. The report sent to participants contains: => overall synthesis of the results Case for all the methods other than IRTF Case with only the IRTF method => the description of the results obtained by all the different methods other than IRTF => detailed synthesis of the results obtained by the laboratories for all the methods The information given for each parameter is: the number of results obtained. the estimated mean value. The reproducibility standard deviation and extended relative and absolute uncertainties (2 x standard deviation and 2 x CV). Standard deviation of repeatability. The reproducibility limit and repeatability limit. The breakdown of participant responses on bar charts. Criteria for each laboratory to assess its performance (Z-score). Theses steps are checked by the statistician internal procedures.

Advice on interpreting the results of inter-laboratory tests: In the notes accompanying each statistical report. On the Estimating Uncertainties course we organise. Communication to participants by post and e-mail: Of the sample dispatch date, the deadline for conducting the tests, the date limit for returning the results, various information on participation in previous services Of the date when the statistical report is put on line on our website (participants who cannot log onto internet receive the report by post). Detailed schedule of each ILC: X = theoretical week when the samples are dispatched. Stages in the programme Schedule Preparation of the samples No later than a fortnight before week X Dispatch of the samples Week X Reception of the samples for analysis Week X or X+1: no later than 2 working days after the dispatch date for France Performance of the tests by the laboratories Week X, X+1 or X+2: no more than 72 hours after opening the sample Week X, X+1 or X+2: no more than 7 Return of the results working days after the dispatch date in France Statistical processing Week X+1, X+2 or X+3: no more than 7 working days after return of the results Statistical report put on line Week X+2 or X+3

The order must be made long enough in advance of the ILC for the right number of samples to be prepared. Price scale: 2009 Prestation For UOEF members For non-members 8 ILC 750 net of taxes 850 net of taxes an additional brick or bottle 40 net of taxes To take part in our Round Robin Analysis please complete and return the attached Enrolment Form. NO ENROLMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED UNTIL PAYMENT HAS BEEN RECEIVED. Statistical review of Round Robin Analysis results: The results of the statistical analysis of each ILC enrich our database which can be used to compare accuracy of analysis methods. The statistical reports since December 2003 are on line in the secure area of our website. The statistical review of the results of ILC between March 2002 and December 2007, representing 47 inter-laboratory tests, is on line. The review integrating 2008 results (55 inter-laboratory tests) will be online during 2009.

This review serves as a basis for discussion with the Authorities to propose a threshold value (extended inter-laboratory reproducibility uncertainty) for each parameter that can be used as an official reference for laboratories. HOW TO COMMUNICATE To respond to your expectations as closely as possible and continue to improve our service, we provide the following forms. The Claims Form : To improve the quality of our services, please complete this form if you have noted any discrepancies, for example through internal monitoring: abnormally long delays in receiving samples, poor IT validation of results Beware. We insist on the fact that you refuse any damaged parcels. Please fill out the damage form with the person making the delivery. A replacement sample will be provided free of charge and as quickly as possible. The Quality Improvement Form : This form is at your disposal to give your opinion on our ILC campaigns. For any questions concerning Round Robin Analysis, you can also contact the coordinator by telephone or e-mail. The processing of any information you might provide by any means will comply with the Feedback Management procedure. The website: The Union site is an ideal means of exchanging information. Through the page dedicated to the Chaine d analyses, you can access a number of services: enrolment form downloads, service schedule information, updates on the parameters analysed and methods used The Laboratory Commission also has its own page, presenting the themes and dates of courses and the number of places still free. News from the laboratories is also featured on the page. Annual meeting of the Laboratory Commission: Organised on the occasion of the National Congress. To collect your remarks, take account of your expectations, improve our services and envisage the organisation of the following campaign.
