UK SOUTH INDIA BUSINESS MEET HOUSES OF PARLIAMENT, WESTMINSTER THURSDAY, 12TH JULY 2012 10.00 AM 5 PM In conjunction with the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the Queen and the London Olympics, the British South India Chamber of Commerce, supported by the Mayor of London, UK Trade & Investment, UK India Business Council and Chaired by Mr Virendra Sharma MP (Ealing Southall), is organizing a UK South India Business Meet. The UK South India Business Meet will be the first of its kind in the UK for South India, involving the government and business organisation of Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and few other guest states from India interacting alongside UK government agencies, Members of Parliament, Ministers, political leaders and business organisations. This special event will enable the states from South India to utilise British expertise and its world-class technology for the infrastructure, Waste management, Education, Low cost housing in urban and Villages, Power & Energy and IT projects coming up in the states. This event is being chaired by Mr.Virendra Sharma MP and will be supported by the Indian High Commission in London, Dy. High Commission in Chennai and UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) and UK-India Business Council (UKIBC). India requires investments in the range of USD 1.7 trillion in the coming decade of which USD 1 trillion will be needed in the next 5 6 years to build new highways, ports, airports, energy plants and transmission grids, and for the development of industrial townships and regeneration of cities. This meet will provide you an opportunity to understand the current environment for infrastructure investment in India and hear from leading financial sector experts on instruments for infrastructure financing including infrastructure Debt funds and the development of the corporate debt market.
