Micheletti) Pages: 5 This 482d Fighter Wing Instruction (FWI) incorporates Hot Refuel procedures from AFI 21-101, AFRC SUP 1, Aerospace Equipment Maintenance Management, Technical Order (TO) 1F-16C- 2-12JG-00-1, Servicing, TO 11A-1-33, Handling and Maintaining of Explosive Loaded Aircraft, TO 00-25-172, Ground Servicing of Aircraft and Static Bonding and LCL 482FW-10-1, Hot Pad Supervisor Hot pit refueling Checklist. It assigns responsibilities, directs action and prescribes Hot refuel procedures within the 482d Fighter Wing (482 FW) and its subordinate functions and establishes responsibilities, standardized procedures and locations for the 482d Maintenance Group (482 MXG). Commanders and supervisors are responsible for ensuring personnel comply with the provisions of this instruction. It applies to all personnel assigned to the 482 FW. Refer recommended changes and questions about this publication to the Office of Primary Responsibility (OPR) using Air Force Form 847 (AF Form 847), Recommendation for Change of Publication; route AF Form 847 from the field through the appropriate functional s chain of command. Ensure that all records created as a result of processes prescribed in this publication are maintained in accordance with Air Force Manual (AFMAN) 33-363, Management of Records and disposed of in accordance with the Air Force Records Information Management System (AFRIMS) Records Disposition Schedule (RDS) located at https://www.my.af.mil/gcssaf61a/afrims/afrims/rims.cfm. 1. Responsibilities. 1.1. Plans, Scheduling and Documentation (PS&D) will. 1.1.1. Schedule aircraft for hot refueling and identify on the weekly flying schedule.

Coordinate all Hot Refuel Requirements with the 482d Operations Group (OG), 482d Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (482 AMXS) and 482d Maintenance Operations Center (482 MOC). Every effort will be made to use aircraft from the daily flying schedule when performing proficiency training. 1.2. 482d Maintenance Operations Center (482 MOC) will. 1.2.1. Notify 482d Operations Group Airfield Management (482 OG/OSA),482d Mission Support Group Fire Department (482 MSG/CEF) and 482d Logistics Readiness Squadron Fuels Shop (482 LRS/LGRF) of the date, time and location of all Hot Refuel operations and coordinate an aircraft rescue and fire fighting vehicle to standby just outside the Fuel Servicing Safety Zone (FSSZ) during all Hot Aircraft Refuels. 1.3. 482 AMXS will. 1.3.1. 482 AMXS supervision ensures hot refueling team members are qualified and are familiar with munitions safety devices for configurations on aircraft that utilize the hot refueling site. 482 AMXS supervision will also monitor training to ensure that personnel training requirements are met. 1.3.2. Provide hot refueling Composite Tool Kits (CTK). 1.3.3. Ensure local checklist LCL 482 FW-10-1, Hot Refueling, is used by the hot pad supervisor/refuel supervisor during hot refuel operations. 1.3.4. Ensure Hot refueling and hot refuel training Phase II and III is accomplished at approved specific hot refuel site. 1.3.5. Ensure Hot Pad Supervisor along with the Hot Refuel supervisor wear a safety vest to identify their position. 1.3.6. Ensure qualified hot pit members are rotated through training to prevent them from going overdue. 1.3.7. Designated 482 MXG Quality Assurance (482 MXG/MXQ) or 482 AMXS/Quality Assurance (QA) augmentees will conduct all phases of Hot Refuel training. These individuals must complete QA augmentee training in order to be classified as augmentees. 1.4. Training Management (MXOT) will. 2. Safety. 1.4.1. Assign Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS) course codes for all Hot Refuel training and ensure initial/recertification training is entered into IMDS. 2.1. With the exception of Chaff/Flare, 20mm TP ammo, and aircraft impulse cartridges, hot refueling aircraft with live ordnance will require a cursory inspection conducted by a crew composed of at least two 2W151 weapons technicians in addition to the normal cursory crew. These qualified weapons technicians will perform a post EOR weapons inspection to ensure all live ordnance are properly SAFED prior to entering the hot refueling area.
