When not in use, the Night Vision Scope must be placed in its case and stored in a location free from dust, moisture and sunlight. Do not store where sudden changes of temperature occur. Keep it away from air conditioning or heating vents. Always lock up products and keep out of reach of children. 4. Use the right product for the job. 5. Never look at the Sun as severe eye damage may occur. 6. Protect the unit from moisture, dust and sunlight. If condensation is visible on the Night Vision Scope, set the Night Vision Scope aside until condensation disappears. 7. Check for damaged parts. Before using any product, any part that appears damaged should be carefully checked to determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for any broken or damaged parts and any other conditions that may affect its operation. Replace or repair damaged or worn parts immediately. 8. Replacement parts and accessories. When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any other parts will void the warranty. 9. Do not operate product if under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Read warning labels on prescriptions to determine if your judgment or reflexes are impaired while taking drugs. If there is any doubt, do not operate the product. 10. Assembly Your Night Vision Scope will only require installation of two batteries. It is important that you read this entire manual to become familiar with the product BEFORE you set up and use the Scope. Installing the Battery 1. Slide and gently pull off the Battery Cover (1) from under the Night Vison Scope-see Figure 1. Figure 1 Battery Cover (1) Battery Compartment 2. Insert (2) AAA 1.5V batteries (not included) into the battery compartment with the polarity placed as indicated inside the compartment. Replace the Battery Cover (1). Operating the Night Vision Scope Without the Illuminator If you are not in a dark area, do not remove the lens cap. 1. In a near dark environment, remove the Lens Cap (2) from the Objective Lens (3)-see Figure 2. 2. Press down and release the Power Button (4) to view an object. 3. Focus the Eyepiece (5) by turning it until the object you are viewing is clearly seen. 4. As you are viewing an object, over a period of time the image will slowly fade as the unit shuts itself off. To refresh the image, push down on the Power Button (4) again. 5. When you have finished viewing an object, replace the Lens Cap immediately. Lens Cap (2) Objective Lens (3) Figure 2 Illuminator Button (6) Power Button (4) Eyepiece (5) Operating the Scope with the Illuminator 1. Use the Illuminator when operating in total darkness. 2. Push the Power Button (4) down to view an object-see Figure 1. 3. Push the Illuminator Button (6) down. The Illuminator Button (6) must continously be held down in order to view an object while in total darkness. 4. Focus the Eyepiece (5) by turning it until the object you are viewing is clearly seen-see Figure 2. 5. When you no longer need the illuminator, release the Illuminator Button (6). 6. Replace the Lens Cap immediately. Tube Screen Appearance 1. Light and dark spots caused by an image converter tube may be visible in the field of view. These are normal and are not considered imperfections by imaged intensifier standards. Most distortion will occur in the peripheral area, not in the center-see Figure 3 below. Maintenance 1. Remove dust or stains with a soft cloth lightly dampened with water or special camera cleaning fluids. 2. Clean the lenses in circular motions with as little fluid as possible. Make certain that any cleaning fluid used is approved for use on glass lenses. 3. Avoid using paper products such as paper towels to clean the lenses. These may scratch and damage the lens. 4. Store in a dry location out of the reach of children.
