Registering at the Securemail site Before using the Secure Mail service for the first time, you must perform a one-time service registration by completing the following steps. 1. When a Secure Mail is sent to you from Kennebec Savings Bank (KSB)/Kennebec Wealth Management (KWM), you will receive a separate email notification from the employee at KSB/KWM that will contain instructions on how to retrieve your Secure Mail. The email notification will contain the following text: A secure email message has been sent to you from Kennebec Savings Bank/Kennebec Wealth Management that contains private content such as account numbers, balances, transaction detail or personal information. In order to protect this private content and as an added layer of security, we have encrypted the email message through our Secure Mail service so that it can only be retrieved and read by you. To view your secure email message, please go to the Bank's website at www*kennebecsavings*com, and click on the secure e-mail login link. This will take you to the Secure Email login page. We suggest bookmarking the Secure Email login page for future visits. (For security reasons, we have removed the periods in the address above and replaced them with *) This Secure Message will expire in 60 days on (date) and (time). Thank you in advance for helping us ensure that your private and personal information is safe and secure. If you have questions or comments regarding our Secure Mail service, please contact the sender of this email or anyone on the Bank's Customer Care Team at (207) 622-5801 during normal business hours. 2. The email notification directs you to the KSB Home page [www.kennebecsavings.com]. On the KSB Home Page, go to the box labeled Email Encryption and click on the link Click here to register. 2
3. Upon clicking this link, you will be redirected to the KSB/KWM customized Secure Mail portal: https://securemail.kennebecsavings.com To initiate the one-time registration process, click on the Register button on the bottom of the portal. 3
4. When you come to the registration page, you will see the screen below. To complete your registration, enter your email address (the one you received the Secure Mail at), and a strong password that complies with the Password Rules section on the bottom of the page. When all fields are completed, click the Register button. 4
5. Once you have submitted your password, the portal tells you that you will receive an email message from notification@securemail.kennebecsavings.com requesting activation of your new password. The email is displayed below: Please note: There are some email providers which delay this confirmation email, occasionally up to several hours. It s also possible that your email provider (or email program) has identified the confirmation email as spam. If you do not receive your confirmation email within 1 hour, you may need to check your junk or spam folder to see if it arrived there. 5
6. Clicking on the link to activate your new password will take you to the Secure Mail portal where an Activation Successful screen will be displayed. Your one-time registration process is now completed. Click on the Continue button to log into the KSB/KWM Secure Mail portal using your email address, and the password you just created. 7. For all future secure emails from KSB/KWM, you may retrieve your emails by logging into the Secure Mail portal directly at: https://securemail.kennebecsavings.com 6
Retreiving a secure e-mail Using the Securemail web portal 1. Login to the securemail website. 2. Once you have logged in, click on the tab called Inbox. You should see the email that was sent to you. Open the email by clicking on the Subject. 7
3. You will then see the email. If the email has an attachment, clicking on the attachment name will prompt you to either open the attachment, or save it to your computer. 8
Sending a secure e-mail 1. Login the securemail website. 2. Once you have logged in, click the tab called Compose. You should see the screen below. Fill in the To field, the Subject field, and type your message in the body of the email. 9
3. If you have an attachment to add to the email, click the Attach File button. You will see the screen below. Click the Browse button, find the file you wish to attach, then click the Add File button. (If you have multiple files to add, repeat this step again.) 4. When you have finished adding files, click the Finish button at the bottom. 10
5. When the email is complete, click the Send button. Your email will be sent, and you will be returned to the Inbox. 11
